The shooting happened at about 7:30 Saturday morning, when Jeremy Brown was heading out for work.

Lowndes County Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said Kadejah Brown and her husband, Jeremy Brown, had been arguing most of the night. He added that Jeremy Brown was trying to leave the apartment and defuse the situation before being shot.

There were kids present at the apartment during the time of the shooting, and they were reportedly crying, saying “please, daddy, please” during the livestream.

Authorities said the 28-year-old male victim died from a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Deputies were on the scene in a matter of minutes and were able to recover a handgun, along with a shell casing.

“There was a history of domestic violence between Brown and the victim,” Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said in a Facebook post. “This was a tragic and senseless murder and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim.”

“Fortunately, Brown is in custody, and we look forward to the criminal justice system holding her accountable,” he added.

Woman drowns while filming live on Facebook https://www.adomonline.com/woman-drowns-while-filming-live-on-facebook/ Mon, 22 Aug 2022 11:06:16 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2152700 A Kenyan lady based in Canada drowned in a swimming pool while live-streaming herself on Facebook.

Hellen Wendy, whose Facebook profile says that she worked as a nurse in Toronto, Ontario was in a jovial mood while interacting with her followers before the tragedy occurred.

Wendy started swimming while her gadget was recording. She kept diving in the pool while holding her face beneath the water for several seconds before swimming back to read the comments on the live video.

She played with the water for nearly 10 minutes until she hopped into what appeared like the deep end of the pool.

Just 10:33 minutes, after she began recording herself, Wendy started gasping for air and could be heard making gurgling sounds while kicking and screaming.

At 11:54 minutes she made the last sound as the video went silent and the water remained still.

The video kept recording for 3 hours before an unidentified individual came around at the 3:09 hour mark and noticed her in the pool.

Another swimmer came to the pool and inquired what had happened. “I thought it’s a poodle or something,” the first person answers.

“What if it’s actually someone who has passed away?” the other person asked before going round to check and confirming if Wendy was alive.

They raised an alarm as one of them rushed to call the caretaker of the facility.

The recorded live stream which is still up on Facebook had over 6,800 comments and 148,000 views with more people sharing and commenting.

Kenyans on social media came together to send their condolences to her family.

Shock as rapper attempts to commit suicide on Facebook live https://www.adomonline.com/shock-as-rapper-attempts-to-commit-suicide-on-facebook-live/ Wed, 02 Mar 2022 09:58:36 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2086102 Botswana rapper/comedian, Penene Ponono, sent social media into a frenzy after he allegedly attempted to commit suicide during a Facebook live video.

While addressing his followers, Pononoi headed for the bush, where he placed his phone at vantage point to capture his moves.

In the video, Ponono could be seen climbing a tree with a rope in his hand.

He wrote on his Facebook live video post:

“People won’t understand what you going through until you act stupid… I am sorry  I love you all”.

Ponono’s “suicide attempt” comes just a couple of days after South African rapper, producer and songwriter, Ricky Rick committed suicide.

Riky Rick, real name Rikhado Muziwendlovu Chifaro Makhado, died on Wednesday after allegedly committing suicide. He was 34-years-old.

Riky Rick was found hanging by his friends at his estate home in north Joburg. His friends managed to rescue him and immediately rushed him to the hospital. Unfortunately, it was too late, and he did not make it.

Riky Rick suffered from severe depression and previously made a video in which he talked about his mental condition.

Before he shockingly took his own life, Riky Rick spent his last moments penning heartfelt letters to his wife Bianca Naidoo and his two children Maik and Jordan.

In his suicide note, Riky Rick revealed he was struggling with depression and he couldn’t go on. He pleaded with his wife Bianca Naidoo and his two children to forgive him for giving up.

Man arrested after broadcasting face during robbery [Video] https://www.adomonline.com/man-arrested-after-broadcasting-face-during-robbery-video/ Wed, 20 Oct 2021 16:38:20 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2031512 Egyptian social media users have hailed a man who inadvertently broadcast his face to thousands of people while stealing a journalist’s phone as “the coolest thief in Egypt”.

Mahmoud Ragheb, a reporter for the news site Youm7, was livestreaming a report on social media when the thief drove by on a motorbike and seized his phone.

The broadcast then revealed the young thief’s face as he sped away from the scene casually smoking a cigarette.

Police have since announced his arrest.

According to Youm7, the incident happened on a bridge in Egypt’s fourth-largest city, Shubra Al-Khaimah, where Mr Ragheb was reporting on the after-effects of a 6.2-magnitude earthquake that rattled parts of Egypt.

Mr Ragheb was filming the bridge when his phone was grabbed roughly from his hands by the unnamed thief. Once the camera had stopped shaking it revealed the face of a young man smoking a cigarette and checking slightly nervously behind him to see if anyone was in pursuit.

MORE:

However, there was little sympathy for the intrepid reporter’s plight, with most social media users focussing on the thief’s relaxed demeanour as he snatched the phone and continued to pull on his cigarette as he made his escape.

One user commented that they had “died from laughter,” while another questioned why the man had bothered looking behind him while “the whole world is watching you”.

More than 20,000 people were watching the livestream when the theft took place and according to figures on Facebook, the video has since racked up more than 6.2 million views and 45,000 comments in a little over 24 hours.

Sadly for the thief, broadcasting his face in this way made it relatively easy for authorities to track him down. The Ministry of the Interior announced last night that it has detained him.

In a statement, the ministry said that the man is “jobless” and that he has since sold the stolen mobile to a trader.

Hot Audio: ‘Facebook Live Nurses’ suspect foul play https://www.adomonline.com/hot-audio-facebook-live-nurses-suspect-foul-play/ https://www.adomonline.com/hot-audio-facebook-live-nurses-suspect-foul-play/#comments Mon, 31 Jul 2017 11:19:15 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=347491 The two nurses who were fired for going live on Facebook while on duty at the Royal MMR Hospital in Accra say they suspect foul play in the circumstances leading to their sack.
According to them, the video was recorded on 23rd April, 2017 and therefore they could not fathom why the video ‘should resurrect now’.
The nurses, identified as Trudy Ewurama Marcel and Ramatu, were fired after their conduct was found to be in breach of the hospital’s rules.
They chose to do Facebook Live and resond to comments, some of them vulgar, while at work in their uniforms.
When Adom FM broke the news Thursday, authorities at the hospital were stunned and they assured the pubkic the two nurses would be sanctioned.
Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Mohammed Donkor confirmed the sacking on Adom FM.
He said the hospital feels very embarrassed by the conduct of the two thus they had no choice than to part ways with them.
The two nurses were employed as health assistants at the Royal MMR Hospital.
But one of the nurses, Trudy Ewurama Marcel says she suspects someone is behind the recent action just to tarnish her image.
“We had closed from work that day and besides the video was recorded way back in April and so I don’t understand why it should be in the news now. I think someone triggered that just to destroy me,” she cried on Accra based Neat FM.
Trudy Marcel, who claims to have been in the health industry for two (2) years “the hospital authorities of have only asked us to step aside for investigations to begin into the matter,” she explained.
The embattled nurse admitted that their conduct was in breach of the hospital’s rules, and they regret it.
“Yes, we admit it was a mistake and we apologized for our acts,” she said.
