According to him, the EC must heed the concerns of political parties and take action on their requests, particularly if those requests can be addressed before the elections.

Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on September 19, he said, “If this nation is not careful, the EC will lead us to destruction. The sort of pronouncements they come up with make us question if they are even qualified to be in that position. There have been instances where there have been transfers to different parts of the country, and the people were not even aware. The records are there.”

On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held a nationwide demonstration in protest against the Electoral Commission (EC).

The NDC is accusing the EC of refusing to allow for a forensic audit of the voters register after it alleged a number of anomalies, including illegal but mass transfer of voters in many places.

The Deputy Commissioner of Operations at the Electoral Commission has condemned the National Democratic Congress for its decision to hold a demonstration over the EC’s refusal to conduct a forensic audit of the voter’s register.

Samuel Tettey argued that protests would not lead to a credible voter’s register.

In response to this, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe added that national elections are a serious step, and it is the responsibility of the Electoral Commission to address any concerns that arise.

“Where we are going to now, for Tettey to come and say they are not going to listen to demands that have been brought by the NDC is a serious matter,” he said.

Dr Nyaho Tamakloe welcomes CAF’s decision to ban Baba Yara stadium https://www.adomonline.com/dr-nyaho-tamakloe-welcomes-cafs-decision-to-ban-baba-yara-stadium/ Wed, 18 Sep 2024 11:20:45 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2450460 Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chairman, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has expressed his frustration over the recent ban imposed on the Baba Yara stadium.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) revoked the stadium’s license last week, citing the poor condition of its playing surface.

This ban means the Black Stars are now unable to host any of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches at the venue.

In an interview with Graphic Sports Stadium, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe, who also serves on the board of Hearts of Oak, expressed disbelief about the development.

He indicated that, with Ghana’s rich footballing history and economic strength, it is left without a single CAF-approved stadium for international matches.

“We deserve it,” he said. “People have been complaining about the Accra Sports Stadium for a while now. The facilities are in terrible shape—no one can even use the toilets. Even the lights in the VVIP section are faulty.”

He suggested that the management of state-owned stadiums be transferred to private companies, who would be responsible for proper upkeep, ensuring everything from clean toilets to adequate water supply, in line with CAF regulations.

“If a private company takes over, fixes the issues, and charges people for better services, fans would prefer that,” he added.

The Black Stars, however, are set to face Sudan at a yet-to-be-determined venue next month before heading to play at Sudan’s Al-Merrikh Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dodzie Numekevor, has been dismissed by President Akufo-Addo over the poor management of the country’s stadiums.

Currently, Accra Sports Stadium, Baba Yara Stadium, and Cape Coast Stadium are all closed for maintenance.

Black Stars players are only interested in showmanship – Ex-GFA boss https://www.adomonline.com/black-stars-players-are-only-interested-in-showmanship-ex-gfa-boss/ Wed, 18 Sep 2024 11:01:15 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2450455 Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chairman, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has expressed disappointment with the recent performances of the Black Stars following their early struggles in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

His remarks come after the national team failed to secure a win in their first two qualifying matches.

Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium in their Group F opener, followed by a 1-1 draw against Niger in Berkane.

These results place the Black Stars in 3rd position in their group with only one point from two games.

In an interview with Graphic Sports, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe criticized the team for focusing more on personal achievements than on collective success, suggesting that the players lacked the grit and determination necessary to win.

“When they are playing, everybody is trying to play a master game, just joking with the ball. How can one person try to dribble about four or five players? Impossible,” he stated, criticising the team’s over-exuberant style of play.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe urged a shift towards developing local talent, noting that many players in Niger’s squad were home-based.

He emphasized the importance of investing in home grown players and encouraged coaches to demonstrate their expertise by nurturing local talents to compete alongside foreign-based stars.

“What they need is to look inward now. If they are real coaches, they should be able to train our local boys because our counterparts play with local boys in their countries and just mix them with one or two foreign players,” the Hearts of Oak Board Member added.

The Black Stars will look to turn their fortunes around when they face Sudan, led by former Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah, in a crucial doubleheader on matchdays three and four of the qualifiers.

I will expose corruption in our football – Ex-GFA chairman https://www.adomonline.com/i-will-expose-corruption-in-our-football-ex-gfa-chairman/ Tue, 02 Jul 2024 21:54:56 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2416303 Former Chairman Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has revealed his intention to expose rampant corruption within the Ghana Premier League.

Speaking to Graphic Sports, the Hearts of Oak board member said he has substantial evidence implicating club officials who engage in bribery and other unethical practices to manipulate match outcomes.

He emphasized his ongoing effort to compile a comprehensive dossier, complete with documents and photographs, to substantiate his allegations.

“I’m deeply going into some of our past Premier League matches and I will expose some of them publicly with documents and pictures to support my argument,” he stated.

He cited specific instances where officials allegedly approached players before matches, offering bribes to either underperform or play favourably towards certain teams.

“Players have openly declared how they have been influenced with cars by managers of different clubs just to play foul for their own team,” he added.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe urged current football administrators to heed these lessons from the past and avoid resorting to corrupt practices in their pursuit of success.

Chris Hughton will best fit Black Stars head coach role – Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe https://www.adomonline.com/chris-hughton-will-best-fit-black-stars-head-coach-role-dr-nyaho-tamakloe/ Thu, 15 Dec 2022 19:10:34 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2195882 Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has tasked the association to appoint Chris Hughton as the next Black Stars head coach following the resignation of Otto Addo.

According to him, the former Brighton & Hove Albion gaffer has the background needed to head the team as the Black Stars seek greener pastures again.

Hughton was part of the Otto Addo-led technical team that was at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and acted as the technical advisor.

But following the resignation of the former Black Stars midfielder, Nyaho Tamakloe has called for the Ghana FA to appoint Hughton and ensure he is based in the country.

“I think Chris Hughton will be the right person because of his background. He has the African background; secondly, he is a coach with experience and also has had the opportunity to know these boys,” the former GFA chairman told Graphic Sport.

“If Chris Hughton is given the job, then he should come and stay in Ghana and form his local Black Stars to ensure that the nucleus of the team should come from them. He should be able to create and also train strikers for the Black Stars.”

In his managerial career, Hughton has also worked at Newcastle United and Norwich City.

2022 WCQ: Hearts, Kotoko players would have played better against Ethiopia – Ex-GFA boss https://www.adomonline.com/2022-wcq-hearts-kotoko-players-would-have-played-better-against-ethiopia-ex-gfa-boss/ Fri, 12 Nov 2021 23:26:25 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2042995 Former Ghana Football Association [GFA] chairman, Dr Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe, has criticised the performance of the Black Stars against Ethiopia.

The Black Stars were shockingly held to a 1-1 draw against the Walias in the matchday five games of the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers on Thursday.

The team, after taking the lead, lost control of the game allowing the Ethiopians to dominate the game, especially in the second half.

The stalemate means the Black Stars need to secure any form of a win against South Africa in the final Group G games on Sunday.

But according to Dr Tamakloe, who is a Board Member of Hearts of Oak, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko players would have played better against Ethiopia.

“What the Black Stars did yesterday, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak players would have done better,” he said on Asempa FM.

“It is about time we stop depending on big names when it comes to call-ups,” he added.

The Black Stars will host Bafana Bafana, who sit on top of Group G at the Cape Coast Stadium at 19:00GMT.
