According to Dr Nduom, the NPRA has also deprived Groupe Nduom of the management of its Tier Three Pension Scheme unduly.

Dr Nduom said, “I have been reviewing what’s been going on in my absence these past three years and cannot bear to watch the indignities being visited on my former employees by those who have wrapped themselves with regulatory powers to punish innocent former employees.  They are doing so with impunity on the blind side of high authorities in the current Administration.”

This is contained in a post on Facebook on Friday, January 13, 2023.

He asked: “How was the Groupe Nduom Tier Three Pension Scheme given to Negotiated Benefits Company Limited?  Which process was used by the NPRA to take a Scheme developed and managed by a Pension Trustee, a private company at great cost and effort and hand it over on a silver platter to another Trustee?  Is this another case of taking business away from an indigenous Ghanaian Pension Trustee to give to a foreign company allegedly being fronted by well-connected Ghanaians?  Is this another case of ‘giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it?’  Why destroy another Ghanaian company in the financial sector?”

The founder of the People’s Progressive Party also lamented the fact that the staff of this company have been denied monies due them.

“Why are former GN employees being denied money due to them from this fund by the NPRA especially when the money has been paid by the GN Bank Receiver and is available?” he wondered.

Failing to pay regulators huge sums of money results in collapse of companies – Nduom https://www.adomonline.com/failing-to-pay-regulators-huge-sums-of-money-results-in-collapse-of-companies-nduom/ Tue, 23 Nov 2021 17:45:59 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2048357 Founder of Group Nduom, Dr Papa Kwasi Nduom, has blamed governmental interference and a lack of support for local companies as what has accounted for the collapse of many indigenous organisations.

Dr Nduom, in a podcast on the topic ‘Fresh matters-why we don’t have many conglomerate companies in Africa’, said regulators demand payment of huge sums of money from owners of companies.

Failure to meet this demand, he continued, results in series of actions geared at collapsing the company.

“We have the Ghana Revenue Authority, we have the Social Security and National Insurance Trust, we have a number of different regulators who know that because of Covid and all manner of other global activities, negative activities going on, shortage of raw materials and inability to ship products from here to there and that indeed many companies are facing severe cash flow difficulties yet they will want to go and lock doors, take people to court, disrupt their activities and demand pay me huge sums of money now, if not, close down the company, collapse it, let it go away.

“They will rather do that than find solutions that will enable the companies to exist while they take time to deal with all these global problems that have surfaced,” he said.

He also claimed governmental interference contributes to this situation.

Dr Nduom’s business was greatly affected when the regulator shut down some of its financial institutions for alleged regulatory breaches.

GN Savings and Loans was part of 23 companies that had their licenses revoked in August 2019 for being insolvent.

According to a statement from the BoG, “the revocation of the license of these institutions has become necessary because they are insolvent even after a reasonable period within which the Bank of Ghana has engaged with them in the hope that they would be recapitalised by their shareholders to return them to solvency.”

End state control of pre-mix fuel – Dr. Nduom tells government https://www.adomonline.com/end-state-control-pre-mix-fuel-dr-nduom-tells-government/ Mon, 04 Dec 2017 07:49:33 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=727931 The President of GroupeNduom, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has urged government as a matter of urgency to enable fishermen to buy pre-mix fuel directly at petrol stations.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Nduom who is also the Chairman of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) National Committee, believes making the pre-mix fuel readily available for the fishermen will help curtail all the diversions and high cost of the product.
According to a report by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), there were 12 major diversions of pre-mix fuel in January alone. The NPA’s BRV Tracking System and Returns revealed in all instances, although the product was documented to be bound for the Volta Region, they ended up in Accra
“Why can’t a fisherman take his/her money to a petrol station and buy pre-mix fuel without fuss? Why allow greedy politicians to mess around with the livelihood of the fishermen who are already struggling to make a living?” he quizzed.
Dr. Nduom also urged government to safeguard the waters from illegal fishing by both locals and foreigners.
Below is the full statement of Dr. Papa KwesiNduom
I don’t get this, about pre-mix fuel
It has been reported in the media that…” The National Petroleum Authority (NPA), is frustrated by what it has discovered to be massive diversions of pre-mix fuel loaded from the Tema Oil Refinery. Yes, I get it the state subsidizes this type of fuel. But we have been subsidizing others too over the years.
Why can’t a fisherman take his/her money to a petrol station and buy pre-mix fuel without fuss? Why allow greedy politicians to mess around with the livelihood of the fishermen who are already struggling to make a living? I come from a fishing town, Elmina and I know what I am talking about. Government should find a better, direct way to help fishermen. Including safeguarding our part of the ocean from illegal fishing by both locals and foreigners.
