As the official main act for the Adom Kwahu Easter Mega Bash, the award-winning twin duo unleashed a storm of rap fusion and Afrobeat, for which the microphone was at their mercy.

From ‘Eish’ to ‘Zanku,’ and all the way to ‘Gboza,’ the back-to-back hitmakers delivered a performance that was more than music.

After whetting the appetite of patrons, they delivered the theme music, ‘Zormizor’ and every crowd reaction proved why DopeNation remains one of Ghana’s most dynamic live acts.

The twins worked the stage in perfect sync, bouncing off each other with choreography, while engaging with the crowd.

At one point, they even paused to let fans rap parts of their songs, and the crowd nailed every line, word-for-word.

Their set was a showstopper, a moment, the kind people will talk about for Easters to come.

DopeNation did not just headline the show, they absolutely owned it.

DopeNation throws heavy shade at Kuami Eugene over exit from Lynx https://www.adomonline.com/dopenation-throws-heavy-shade-at-kuami-eugene-over-exit-from-lynx/ Tue, 28 Jan 2025 11:47:12 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2497868 Music duo DopeNation has taken a long-awaited jab at Kuami Eugene following his recent departure from the Lynx Entertainment record label.

This comes after a statement Kuami Eugene made four years ago when DopeNation exited the label.

At the time, Kuami Eugene expressed relief over their exit, saying it meant more resources for himself and label mate KiDi. He was quoted in an interview with Joy News, “I’m glad that now, what we shared among four boys will now be shared among two boys. They can take the exit.”

Though DopeNation did not publicly respond at the time, the twin artistes have now found their voice.

Taking to social media, they cheekily reminded Kuami Eugene of his past comments, further wishing him success in overcoming what some fans refer to as the “Lynx Curse”—a belief that artists who leave the label struggle to maintain their careers.

Kuami Eugene has yet to address the remarks, which have sparked varied reactions on social media.

We created bangers for Ebony, Shatta Wale, other music stars – DopeNation https://www.adomonline.com/we-created-bangers-for-ebony-shatta-wale-other-music-stars-dopenation/ Mon, 12 Feb 2024 13:44:02 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2354789 Before rising to prominence as celebrated recording artistes, Ghanaian music duo, DopeNation served as a driving force behind many hit songs in Ghana’s music scene.

In a surprising revelation, the twin brothers revealed are the brains behind many ear-pleasing beats most A-listed artistes have recorded with in Ghana.

Under the mentorship of award-winning artiste EL, DopeNation said their impressive roster of collaborations included names like Pappy Kojo, Joey B, Eazzy, Mr Eazi, among others.

One of their standout achievements was their involvement in producing Ebony’s chart-topping hit “Poison,” which not only garnered multiple awards but also contributed to her posthumous recognition as Artiste of the Year.

Additionally, DopeNation’s creative touch was evident in tracks such as Shatta Wale’s “Kpuu Kpaa” and Mr Drew’s “This Year”.

They also worked under Lynx Entertainment on a one-year contract where they worked for signees including Kuami Eugene.

Despite their success behind the scenes, DopeNation eventually transitioned from being music producers to artistes in their own right.

They dropped their first song, ‘Eish’ which immediately became a nationwide banger.

DopeNation replies Kuami Eugene over Lynx exit jubilation [Video] https://www.adomonline.com/dopenation-replies-kuami-eugene-over-lynx-exit-jubilation-video/ Tue, 11 Aug 2020 17:28:12 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1839170 Music group DopeNation has expressed disappointment in colleague singer Kuami Eugene after he said he was excited over their exit from Lynx Entertainment Record label.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, they said they were astonished by Kuami’s statement because he had already congratulated and wished them well in person.

Kuami Eugene, in an interview with Joy News on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, said DopeNation’s exit will give Lynx Entertainment’s Chief Executive Officer, Richie Mensah, more room to focus on him and co-signee, Kidi.

But reacting to his statement, DopeNation told Andy Dosty that:

What he said and what we heard, we were not satisfied with it. We felt he should have congratulated us and we didn’t see it as his place to announce the reason we left because he has no idea about our contract and business with Lynx. We were shocked.

MORE:

Even if you want to be sarcastic, you have to express it as a brand but not as friends, you have to represent Lynx, they added.

We didn’t call him, we only did a day after we had signed out. If we don’t express it then it means we are not being real. All jokes aside, we love him and anytime they mention top five musicians we mention his name.

Ghanaian music group, DopeNation, has released a new song dubbed ‘Chairman’ and it’s definitely aimed at fellow Tema-based rapper Kwesi Arthur, Adomonline.com can confirm.

In a video circulating on social media, the twin musicians, explaining why they composed the song, pointed out that Kwesi Arthur had disrespected them and failed to render an apology.

According to them, they were billed to climax a show at Ghana Telecom University College in Accra but were ambushed by Kwesi Arthur and his team few minutes before their performance.

DopeNation said some people from the ‘Grind Day’ hitmaker’s camp elbowed and injured them in the process of mounting the stage.

Interestingly, instead of retaliating physically, they decided to address the BET nominee rapper in a song, which they claimed leaked from their studio.
