Shortly after Samuel Aboagye’s death, rumors circulated that his wife had refused to present their child for DNA testing, which was intended to assist in identifying Aboagye’s body.

This fueled speculation that the child might not be his. Later, reports emerged claiming the DNA test had been completed and that Aboagye’s wife had been vindicated.

However, Nana Dwamena Kwabena Yiakwan II, brother of the deceased, told Adom News that the family has not undertaken any DNA test and that the circulating reports are false.

He expressed surprise at the rumors and emphasized that the family has no one to suspect for spreading such claims.

He further noted that a court ruling scheduled for December 23, 2025, will determine the next steps.

“The DNA test will only be conducted after the court proceedings. All current media speculations are unfounded,” he added.

This revelation follows weeks of emotional confessions and heated debate aired on the popular Obra Show on Nhyira FM, where Robert first publicly demanded a paternity test.

He said he was compelled to do so after enduring years of suspicion and damaging comments from his wife’s family suggesting he is impotent.

“I really needed the DNA test because I strongly felt my wife had been unfaithful for a long time,” Robert said. “She goes to braid her hair and comes home at midnight.”

According to him, the situation intensified after he began receiving threatening calls from an unknown number, warning him ominously to “wait and see what will happen.”

The DNA results has confirmed that Robert is not the biological father of his eldest child—now about 30 years old—and his second-to-last born.

However, a 14-year-old child he fathered outside the marriage was confirmed to be biologically his, contradicting his wife’s claims that he was impotent.

Robert’s wife has since rejected the results and all allegations made against her but offered no concrete evidence to support her stance.

In response to the findings, she simply said, “I don’t believe these results.”

Earlier on the show, she explained that shortly after their marriage, Robert was diagnosed with a low sperm count, prompting them to seek spiritual intervention.

She claimed that it was only through that spiritual help that she was able to conceive. However, Robert maintains that his wife’s questionable behavior —like coming home at odd hours — and the persistent doubts raised by her family gave him reason to question the paternity of all four children.

Robert revealed that due to challenges in the marriage, he fathered a child with another woman – a child who is now 14 years old.

According to him, he was compelled to present this child publicly after his wife’s family allegedly spread rumours that he is impotent and not the father of the children he raised.

He explained that both the family’s accusations and his wife’s recent unusual behaviour — including an incident where she returned home at 2 a.m. after going out to braid her hair — pushed him to seek the DNA test.

On the show, Robert admitted to cheating on his wife multiple times, justifying his actions by saying he suspected her of being unfaithful. “She once came home at 2 a.m. after braiding her hair. Since then, I’ve had strong doubts that any of the children are mine,” he stated.

In response, his wife admitted to coming home late that night but denied any wrongdoing. She revealed that shortly after their marriage, Robert was diagnosed of low sperm count, which led them to seek spiritual help.

She declared that she would not let the matter rest until she is fully compensated for every cedi spent during her daughter’s pregnancy.

“I want every pesewa back,” she said. “From hospital visits to baby clothes and feeding — everything. He denied us and abandoned us, but today, the truth has spoken,” she said, while her eighteen-year-old daughter wept.

The whole-genome sequencing will screen for hundreds of diseases and allow people to “leapfrog” killer illnesses, according to the Health Secretary, Wes Streeting.

Speaking to the Telegraph, he revealed plans to move the NHS towards a model of sickness prevention rather than treatment.

Personalised medicine, made possible through things like DNA testing, will form a big part of that plan, with £650m pledged to genomics research by the government.

“The revolution in medical science means that we can transform the NHS over the coming decade, from a service which diagnoses and treats ill health to one that predicts and prevents it,” said Mr Streeting in a statement.

“Genomics presents us with the opportunity to leapfrog disease, so we’re in front of it rather than reacting to it.”

The upcoming Life Sciences Sector Plan will be published in early July.

Newborns are currently offered a blood test when they are around five days old to check for nine rare but serious conditions.

In those blood spot tests, the baby’s heel is pricked to collect a few drops of blood on a card, but with whole genome sequencing, blood samples are typically taken from the umbilical cord shortly after birth.

In the past, Mr Streeting has spoken about his desire to make the NHS more preventative, in order to reduce rates of serious illness and save money.

Technologies like artificial intelligence will be used by the health service to predict illness and allow treatment or medication to be offered much earlier.

“With the power of this new technology, patients will be able to receive personalised healthcare to prevent ill health before symptoms begin, reducing the pressure on NHS services and helping people live longer, healthier lives,” said Mr Streeting.

Along with a greater focus on prevention, the Government’s 10-year plan is expected to include Mr Streeting’s two other “shifts” in the NHS: moving care away from hospitals to communities, and from analogue to digital services.

It follows Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ announcement that the Government would increase NHS funding by £29 billion per year in real terms over the next three years as it tries to cut waiting lists in line with its election promises.

The test, conducted after weeks of public interest and speculation, was the latest step in a case that has gripped listeners since the teenage mother named four different men as potential fathers of her child.

The saga began when Esi Nyamekye accused a young man named Isaac Addae, her daughter’s former classmate, of being responsible for the pregnancy.

Isaac denied paternity, claiming it was a one-time encounter and suspected the girl lied to him for being a virgin. He firmly claimed not to be the father of the child. A DNA test was conducted and officially cleared him.

Following the results, the teenage girl admitted that three other men — Martin, Jeremiah, and Frank Owusu — could also be responsible. All three were invited to the Obra Show, where each denied paternity and gave varying accounts of their engagements with the girl.

In her own words, the teenage girl insisted that Jeremiah was not responsible and cast doubt on Martin’s involvement. Frank, on the other hand, admitted to a timeline that matched the pregnancy but needed confirmation.

Before the DNA results were announced, tensions ran high in the studio. The mother of one of the accused men — who identified herself as a member of a royal family — expressed deep frustration over her son being subjected to a paternity test.

She insisted that the process had brought shame to their family and vowed to sue the teenage girl and her mother if her son was found not to be the father.

“I have prayed over this matter. If my son is innocent, I will not let this go. My family name has been dragged into public disgrace,” she warned emotionally.

Her son was eventually cleared by the DNA results.

However, when Frank Owusu was confirmed as the child’s father, emotions boiled over. The woman, still visibly agitated, confronted Esi Nyamekye, accusing her of tarnishing reputations. The confrontation escalated into a physical altercation that brought the live broadcast to a standstill, despite efforts by producers and guests to intervene.

Obaa Adwoa, host of the Obra Show, condemned the altercation and reminded all parties that the focus of the show was to protect the interests of the innocent child.

“If there is anyone to be held accountable, it should be those who admitted to having sexual relations with an underage girl,” she said firmly.

Panelist, Lady Gold, also questioned the moral responsibility of the man in question. “If your son is royal, what was he doing with a young girl he is not married to?” she quizzed.

Another panelist, Evangelist Degraft Addae, also stated that “all the men involved in this case should be arrested. This girl was underage; the law must take its course.”

With Frank Owusu now confirmed as the father and three others ruled out, the case has shifted from a paternity search to questions of statutory violations and child protection.

The Obra team says it remains committed to supporting the teenage mother and ensuring justice is pursued for the welfare of her child.

Mother of the boy claims that Okomfo has stopped taking care of the child for reasons he did not understand.

“He has stopped taking care of the child since March 2024”, Ama told Mama Effe, host of Obra.

The fetish priest, however, refuted the claims, insisting the actions of the mother made him suspicious and decided not to continue taking care of the child.

“I bought a cloth for her and added money to it; she returned them to me and told me I am not the father of the child, so I should look for my child and stop taking care of the boy. So since then, I have been reluctant to support,” the priest recounted.

In the heat of an argument, the girl claimed she was a virgin until she met the priest. But this claim didn’t go well with Okomfo.

“She was having pills on her the first day I had sex with her, and she was not a virgin. On two occasions, she has told me the child is not mine, so I want a DNA test to be conducted to know the paternity of the child,” he pleaded.

The priest opted to foot the bill for the DNA to prove his innocence.

He agreed to assume responsibility as a father if the results showed he was responsible. But he remained skeptical about the child though there are physical resemblance between him and the child.

The arrest came after a series of events revealed that Agyei was responsible for the pregnancy, contrary to his initial denial.

Inspired by the achievements of Chef Faila and Afua Asantewaa, DNA is motivated to break this record.

He noted that, the current record holder for this feat is an Indian man called Chandramouli, who set the record in September 2022 by driving in reverse for 16.6 km in 30 minutes.

In a video shared by popular Ghanaian blogger Zionfelix, DNA conducted a trial test, showcasing his driving skills by moving his car in reverse for a few kilometers.

According to him, he has been practicing for months and expressed confidence in his ability to surpass the existing record.

DNA also revealed plans to reach out to Guinness World Records to seek approval for the attempt.

The event, which took place at the Africa Trade House Conference Room, brought together retired footballers, former Ghanaian International players, coaches, Football Administrators, members of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture and the leadership of the Ghana Football Association.

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, was flanked by Executive Council Members Dr Randy Abbey, Kingsley Osei Bonsu and Fredrick Acheampong.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture Hon. Kwaku Agyenim Boateng (Berekum West Member of Parliament), led his Committee to the launch.

The Ghana Football Philosophy details research by the Technical Directorate and inputs from technocrats, National and Club Coaches, (past and present), Administrators, Players, Referees, Supporters, Coach Instructors, Coach Educators, Politicians, Traditional Authorities, Women in Football, Sports Media Personalities among others.

The Ghana Football DNA will be the coaching and playing philosophy of Ghana Football going forward.

‘The Ghana Football philosophy identifies how we play, the current trends in football, our strengths and weaknesses, and an implementation plan to get to where we want to be with our game.’

The event will be held at the Africa Trade House Conference Room in Accra at 11:000 am.

The document, which was compiled by the Technical Directorate of the GFA led by Bernhard Lippert, is expected to touch on many areas of the game, including football development, technical, funding, branding and the spectators, among others.

“The Ghana Football DNA identifies how we play, the current trends in football, the areas to strengthen and how to get to where we want to be with our play,” a statement on the GFA website read.

The document, according to the FA, was put together after gathering opinions and ideas from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, national and club coaches (both past and present), football administrators, players, referees, supporters, politicians, traditional authorities, women in football and sports media personalities.

After the launch, the document will be implemented throughout all technical education in the country.

The event is expected to bring together major stakeholders of the game from across the country.

The complaint, name withheld, graced the Obra show to accuse her two boyfriends of evading responsibility of her pregnancy and care for their one-year-old son.

This led to a massive banter in the studios as the men, in a rebuttal, accused her of being promiscuous.

To bring an end to the whole brouhaha, the producers of the show, with permission, organized a DNA test and the result was nothing anyone was expecting.

The result read that the probability of the men being the father of the child is 0%, confirming claims she had other ‘side boyfriends’.

The complainant nearly ran mad in the studios after being exposed, and the only reaction she could give was uncontrollable sobbing.

She confessed to sleeping with three men at the same time, even during her pregnancy. After birth, she proceeded to visit the men equally and made them believe they were responsible for the pregnancy.

However, after they failed to play their roles including financial investment in the baby’s upkeep, she reported the matter to the Obra unit.

Sharing her story anonymously, the woman said that she had been married for about a year when her partner discovered that he was part Native American.

The woman’s curiosity was sparked, as she too was part Native Americanmothe – so she did some research and looked into his family tree, but was shocked by what she learned.

After going back just a short way, she saw her own maiden name on the list, so she compared his family tree with her own and found a link – her great grandmother was his great grand aunt.

Taking to Reddit, she said: “I did some genealogy research on my husband’s maternal side of the family. I find his great-great-grandfather who is officially Seminole Indian.

“We are excited at this point because we find that his grandmother was also born in Oklahoma on the Seminole territory.

“Well, I decided to go back a Lil further and I become alarmed when I find my mother’s maiden surname down the line. I look into it further and find that they were born on Chickasaw territory in Oklahoma.

“At this point, my adrenaline kicks in and I immediately jump back to my mother’s family tree. And there I found her. The woman that connects us. My second great-grandmother, and my husband third great grand aunt.

“The first thing I thought of was my mother-in-law saying ‘I feel like she’s a part of me’ when we first met. Funny how that works.

“No going back now. We’re married and we have a daughter together. It really is a small world.”

After sharing her story online, the woman was inundated with comments from people who said she shouldn’t be concerned – reassuring her that it wasn’t as rare as she thought.

One said: “It’s fine, don’t flip out over it. People tend to generally stay in one geographic area, lots of people all around you are distantly related somehow. Practically can’t avoid it.”

While another added: “That’s actually kinda cool. I can see why it might disturb you at first. But your kid will have quite an interesting ancestry of being two tribes.”

And a third wrote: “My husband and I did this too but found out I’m distantly related to his best friend.”

Giving further explanation, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Pantami, said the attention of the programme would no longer be cards’ production, but strengthening the digital platform.

“Our priority now is digital ID; it will be attached to your database wherever you are. So if you can memorise it by heart, wherever you go that central database domiciled with NIMC will be able to provide the number and your data will be provided,” he said.

He added the transition has already started in the international passport registration process.

Though Stallone, her then partner film producer Michael Birnbaum or an unnamed artist could have been the father, she believed it was the actor.

She said: “Things hadn’t been going well with Michael for some time, and we split up later that week when I came clean about Stallone.

“But Sly didn’t call, as I had expected him to, and a week later I discovered I was pregnant.

“I called Sly and went over to see him. We had supper and made love – he’d improved considerably since our brief debut. Then I told him I was pregnant.

“Second, she needs to have intercourse with two men in really short space of time to make it possible.

“The results showed that the children have the same mother but not the same father. They have at least two fathers,” Ms Deng suggested. 

Twins being born with different fathers is an extremely rare occurrence known as heteropaternal superfecundation.

It came after the couple from south-eastern China’s Xiamen city went to register the birth of their twin sons at the local police station in 2019.

In order to complete the registration, they had to produce the results of a paternity test to prove that the babies were theirs.

The parent, who remains unidentified, made the shocking discovery after taking the newborns to undergo a DNA test as part of the standard procedure to register their births in China, a DNA analyst told reporters.

The man was astounded upon receiving the test results which indicated that his wife also had sex with someone other than him, Chinese media report.

The husband, known by his alias Xiaolong, had wondered why one of his sons didn’t look like him at all.

The director from the Fujian Zhengtai Forensic Identification Centre said that Xiaolong was furious after reading the DNA report and confronted his wife.

It is said that his wife initially denied having an affair and accused her husband of falsifying the results.

Xiaolong further interrogated his wife, who then admitted that she had slept with another guy and that it was a one-night stand.

The father said he was happy to raise his own child, but not the one from someone else, according to the report.

According to the person who shared the story on social media, the man who was based in Canada returned to Nigeria with the hope of flying his family to join him in Canada but fate had a way of turning things around.

In the course of filing for the travel documents of the children, the Canadian Embassy requested for a test to prove the children were his.

The man agreed to conduct the test only for it to come out as negative for him – not even one of the three children was his biological child.

The man, on seeing the DNA results, got angry and beat his wife to the extent that she lost 4 teeth.

According to Victor, such DNA results only prove the men are infertile and the wives are trying to cover the shame.

In a twitter post revealing this unpopular opinion, the counsellor advised men to thank their wives for not exposing their sexual shortcomings should they find out that their children belonged to other men.

He further advised men to live silently with such children in peace.

To Lawyer Martin Kpebu, he believes the Police Service have refused to release the remains because the main suspect is still standing trial in court.

“On the facts of this case I would side with the Ghana Police because of the controversy. Are they [the families] not saying that these bones are not the bones of their children? So because of that, there is a controversy.”

Speaking in an interview on Accra-Based Citi FM monitored by Adomonline.com, Lawyer Kpebu explained the court would have to issue an order for the police to release the remains of the girls.

“So the first hurdle they have to cross is that they’ll go to the same court and ask for an order to be permitted to do their own independent DNA test. Then after the results, they’ll know that these are the bones of their children or not. If it turns out that those bones belong to their children, then they’ll now apply that they want to have closure,” he urged.

Lawyer Kpebu’s comment follows a private meeting between the families and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong Boanuh on Thursday where they made some demands including the release of the remains for an independent DNA test.

Meanwhile, the police said some conditions would have to be met before the remains could be released but the families however rejected the condition.

The families were enthusiastic and full of hope about returning back to Takoradi with a copy of the DNA test and the skeletal remains retrieved by the police around the residence of prime suspect Samuel Udotek Wills prior to their meeting with the IGP.

Speaking in an interview with Joy News after the closed door meeting, Spokesperson for the families, Michael Hayford stated their hope has been dashed out.

“The police had gone contrary to an agreement made but instead is asking for a court order before handing over the skeletal remains and copy of the DNA test conducted,” he said.

Meanwhile, they were given access to the mortuary to have a look at the skeletal remains for the first time since its discovery during which some of the relative stated the bones are not those of the girls.

A delegation of about 20 people was transported to Accra from Takoradi for the meeting with the IGP.

Anatomic Pathologist, Ernest Adjei, involved in establishing the identity of the remains believed to be those of the four kidnapped Takoradi girls says he is convinced about the credibility of the DNA results.

According to Dr Ernest Adjei, he stands by the quality of work done by him and his colleagues in establishing that the remains were those of the girls.

“When the remains came in, one was separate with three mixed up which we had to re-arrange and sort them out,” he said.

Speaking in an interview on Joy News’ Police Watch, Dr Adjei enumerated how the due procedures were conducted.

“At the end of the day, what we sought to do was to look at the bones and establish the age range, the height, the stature and sexes which comes with some techniques and we realised all four were females.

“We found out the youngest of the skeletal remains was between 15 and 16 with the oldest between 21 and 22.”

To Dr Adjei, he was convinced the remains were those of the Takoradi girls even before the DNA results were released.

“I was depressed when we discovered the skeletal remains were feminine adding that to the age range. I was sad because I was hoping we will get to the point where we will say those were not the remains of the missing girls,” he said.

A statement issued by the Police CID after the remains were found said the tests would be completed within four weeks.

The statement also specified that the police would cover all other angles of investigations as the search for the kidnapped girls continues.

The spokesperson for the families, Michael Hayford, speaking on Eyewitness News said they have not received any information or updates from the police about the DNA samples.

“When asked when last they heard from the police, he replied, “That was last three weeks. The liaison officer came to visit the family and then he told us that as soon as the report comes in they will let us know. But as it stands now the month has ended. That was a week ago and there’s been no information from them so we are just hoping that they will come out with the report.”

“You know the month just ended last week so we wanted to give them a week more. The week will end like coming Friday. So after Friday if there is nothing like report we will just move to their office to verify from them what they have for us,” he continued.

Some residents of Takoradi had threatened to hit the streets of Takoradi over the police’s handling of the case.

However, a particular lady, Ayomide Labinjo, who had accused the singer of impregnating her about three years ago and abandoning his responsibility as a father has surfaced.

Even though the singer has publicly denied the child, Labinjo had since dared him to come out for another DNA test but the singer has refused.

In a chat with Punch, the lady wondered why Davido would take care of his other two children and be a father to them but refused to do the same to their alleged child, Mitchell, whom she claims to be his first child.

“Our lawyer has sent a letter to Davido’s father since April 20, 2017, we have not got any response till now. I am not happy about this whole situation.

“Why would I be happy for Davido? He should be taking care of Mitchell the same way he is taking care of Imade and I know how he is going to take good care of this one. What is my own offence?” she queried.

“What do you mean please? Then why isn’t he coming out for the DNA since he is denying the little girl? Why has his father refused to get back to the lawyer?

“David is the father of my daughter, at least I was not raped. I know who impregnated me! Besides, if he doesn’t want to go for the DNA, he has siblings.

“Let them come out or probably go the traditional way to know if she is their daughter or not.

“I don’t know and I don’t care about any ‘Americana;’ all I want is for him to take care of Mitchell. She’s also his daughter and first child for that matter,” she said.
