A recent video shows Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia dancing to the song during rallies in the Ashanti Region, accompanied by notable political figures such as NPP’s regional chairman, Chairman Wontumi, and Honorable Kennedy Agyapong.

This occurrence comes despite DJ Azonto’s earlier demand compensation for the unauthorized use of his song.

The video has since gone viral, raising concerns about the disregard for intellectual property rights.

The Rolls Royce Family has now escalated their demand, requesting an additional sum from each of the political figures involved.

They noted that this issue is not merely about financial compensation but also about respecting the rights and efforts of artists.

DJ Azonto had previously expressed his intention to reward his mother with a car if his song was used in political activities. However, despite the repeated use of “Fa No Fom” by Dr. Bawumia and others, no compensation or acknowledgment has been provided.

The Rolls Royce Family finds it troubling that the artist’s work is being used without permission, particularly for political purposes, which undermines the value of the artist’s creation.

The management team urges Dr. Bawumia, Chairman Wontumi, and Kennedy Agyapong to address the issue promptly and provide the necessary compensation.

They remain open to dialogue to resolve the matter amicably but insist that appropriate measures must be taken to rectify the ongoing infringement.

Additionally, they call on music bodies such as the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) to advocate for and protect the rights of musicians in such matters.

In the letter, DJ Azonto said Medikal’s association with Shatta Wale had negatively influenced his behavior.

The management team expressed deep regret for the gaffe, noting that DJ Azonto has always admired Shatta Wale’s significant contributions to the music industry and the inspiration he provides to many.

They clarified that, there was no intention to disrespect Shatta Wale, instead, the remarks were meant to offer personal advice to a colleague and friend, Medikal.

Recognizing that the approach was unfortunate, misguided, and insensitive, the Rolls Royce Family extended a heartfelt apology to Shatta Wale.

They reiterated their respect and appreciation for Shatta Wale and other notable talents in the industry.

They also thanked Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale’s manager, for his wise and thoughtful response, and Medikal, for accepting DJ Azonto’s letter in good faith.

His management team also announced a new direction for his performances and public appearances, indicating that DJ Azonto would stop wearing ladies outfits and present a more respectful and appropriate image.

DJ Azonto expressed his deep care and concern for the rapper, noting their long-standing friendship and admiration for Medikal’s wisdom.

He believes Medikal and Fella Makafui’s marital issues can be resolved privately.

Sharing his own experiences with marital challenges, DJ Azonto advised the couple to exercise discretion in handling family matters.

He advised Medikal to focus on his family and avoid washing their linen in public.

DJ Azonto reminded that, challenges are a common phenomenon in marriage and encouraged Medikal to address the issues with foresight.

DJ Azonto also noted that, it is unnecessary to expose private matters such as his wife’s surgery, wee toffee intake or other personal issues just because their marriage is struggling.

No matter how tempting it might be for Medikal to seek revenge, DJ Azonto urged him to let go of the “childish” issues for the sake of their daughter, Island.

He charged Medikal to show strength and endurance as head of the family.

The incident occurred at a presidential campaign event in Nalerigu, North East region, where Dr. Bawumia was seen dancing to DJ Azonto’s song “without prior permission”.

According to DJ Azonto, his management team was neither approached for authorization nor compensated for the use of the song in the high-profile event.

This unauthorized use, he claims, led to the collapse of negotiations with several political parties that were considering using his song for their own campaigns.

In response to what they view as a violation of intellectual property rights, DJ Azonto’s management, the Rolls Royce Family, is demanding $10 million in compensation.

They argue that this amount reflects the song’s value and the damages incurred due to its misuse.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Showtym with Andy Dosty, DJ Azonto emphasized the seriousness of the matter, urging respect for copyright laws and intellectual property rights.

He highlighted the willingness of musicians and the entertainment industry to collaborate with political candidates, provided proper channels are followed and permissions are obtained.

In an interview on Onua FM, DJ Azonto revealed that he has already received £80,000 upfront of the agreed fee, with an additional £20,000 to be settled after his appearance at the event.

He made the revelation when asked why he was not included in the crop of artistes to grace the big stage at the 02 Arena.

“Can Medikal have the show without me? Have you seen any father who eats and does not feed his sons? I have received pounds from Medikal, you will see me live in London. Medikal has paid and billed me.

Despite initial doubts raised by panelists, DJ Azonto backed up his claims by stating that his official promotion materials are awaiting release until the full payment had been received.

With the concert scheduled for May 3rd, the buzz surrounding Medikal’s performance at the iconic O2 Arena continues to grow.

In an interview with Property FM, DJ Azonto expressed his unwavering commitment to continuing this fashion style throughout his career.

What makes his commitment even more striking is his wish to be buried in female clothing when he dies.

During the interview, DJ Azonto confidently stated, “I will never change my way of dressing to perform on stage, in fact, when I die, I want to be buried in this type of outfit.”

His claim to fame is kind courtesy his ‘Fa No Fom’ banger, which has earned him multiple awards and a nomination at the 2024 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

But, his team does not seem to be too impressed with him and is doubting his chances of clenching victory.

According to him, his team members mocked him when he disclosed his intention to file for the Best Songwriter.

That notwithstanding, he tried his luck, not only in that category, but five others.

“I filed for Artiste of the Year, New Artiste of the Year, Best Songwriter, Hiplife Song of the Year, Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year and Best Afropop Song,” he said in an interview.

Out of the six, he was nominated for only Best New Artiste of the Year alongside Lasmid, DJay, Jay Bahd, Malcolm Nuna, Chief One and Awura Abena.

DJ Azonto in an earlier interview had negative things to say when asked of his relationship with Yaa Pono who was hitherto known to be his associate.

This caused a rift between the two, but DJ Azonto after careful assessment said he has eaten humble pie and admitted he went overboard.

In his opinion, though what he said were facts, he had no right to bring their issue out for public consumption.

In an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM he struggled to hold back tears while expressing how much he misses their friendship.

According to him, Yaa Pono turned down all apologies rendered on his behalf, so he used the opportunity to make a personal humble plea.

DJ Azonto went on his knees and begged for forgiveness.

A single collaboration is all he needs from Yaa Pono who he described as his brother.
