A proud Dr Badu posted his certificates on social media to announce his newest titles as a Dean and Professor of the Trinity International University, but the post was greeted with doubts.

Of all his critics, Mr Badu is particularly concerned about a netizen who went as far as creating a thread and sending e-mails to his institute in the bid to ‘expose his deceit’.

In a live video posted by the musician, Mr Badu who was initially in a somber mood went hostile as he described the trolls as ‘foolish’.

He said those who have issues could have sent him messages or emails to enquire.

“Everyone knows I love to chat, but you get somebody literally spend the time to say foolishness they don’t know,” he lamented.

Sonnie Badu said when he started his ministry, a vast majority of those trolling him were still in school hence he has built a solid career for which he deserves every positive recognition.

“Those doing this, be careful, be careful, be very careful, it is not everybody you play those games with and go scot-free,” he warned

It is for this same attitude and mindset Mr Badu confessed he and his family will not live in Ghana.

Sonnie Badu became an object of mockery on social media when netizens challenged his claims of bagging a Doctorate, Master Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree simultaneously at the Trinity International University.

For many who have taken on the musician, it is impossible to achieve such a feat in the space of time he claims did.

But, reacting to the ongoing discussions around the issue, Professor Gyampo sided with Badu’s critics, saying three degrees in four months is an absurdity.

He further asserted that the Gospel musician was playing on the minds of ‘ignorant’ Ghanaians.

“Maybe not the PhD I did, but, whoever is saying they acquired three degrees in four months, tell him that me Ransford Gyampo, I’m saying he is spewing an absurdity that isn’t possible,” he said in an interview with Starr FM.

When presented with Mr Badu’s defense that the fast-earned degree is by the Grace of God, Prof Gyampo who said he studied Religious Studies at the University is adamant the explanation is irrelevant.

According to him, the Grace of God does not fund illogicality, elaborating that God ‘cannot’ do things that are logically impossible.

The composer announced that he had been awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry and Master’s degree in Christian leadership at the Trinity International University.

Dr Badu took to social media over the weekend to announce his new educational qualification he said he achieved within four months.

“What an amazing day it has been. A second doctorate in the basket, Doctorate in Musicology, Master’s degree in Christian Leadership, Bachelor’s degree in Ministry. Thanks to @trinityiua who took their time to walk me through in spite of my busy schedule,” he wrote.

However, netizens have, with mixed reactions, welcomed the news, with some questioning the authenticity of the said degrees.

Others have queried why a ‘man of God’ is overly interested in gaining worldly recognition.

Reacting to the critics, Dr Badu, who identified himself as a lion, said it is fruitless to respond to frogs.

“When they don’t understand the frequency of your grace and you hard work behind the scenes they bring their own PHD (pull him down). LIONS DONT RESPOND TO FROGS,” he emphasised.

He also posted some photos of his graduation ceremony in the company of some colleagues.

Intercepted copies of documents showing details of some of these suspected false credentials from some candidates within the Greater Accra Region for the MMDCE positions have Degree in Technical Surveillance, Basic Instructor Certificate II, Associate Degree in Political Marketing among others.

One of the districts in contention, Today can confirm, is the Kpone Katamanso District in the Greater Accra Region.

Our investigations established that out of four people in the race, one has an Associate Degree in Political Marketing as his highest educational curriculum.

A similar situation was also found in Ashanti, Eastern, Western Regions and few districts in the three Northern Regions.

The source was also of the view that the macho-men style of lobbying was the cause of all these problems, thus causing delays in the appointments of the MMDCEs.
