DCOP Kwesi Ofori named on Bawumia’s Manifesto Committee for security

Retired Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Kwesi Ofori is a member of the Manifesto Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He will contribute his expertise to the security committee, which is led by Edward Asomani.

This appointment was contained in a statement issued on Thursday, February 22, by the Communications Director of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye.

DCOP Ofori retired from the Police Service on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60. He has garnered a wealth of experience from his 35 years in the Police Service.

Prior to his retirement, he was the Director-General of the Ghana Police’s Public Affairs Directorate, demonstrating a profound understanding of security matters.

A son of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) (rtd), Kwesi Ofori, former Director-General of the Ghana Police Public Affairs Directorate, over the weekend tied the knot with the daughter of a business tycoon, Joe Acheampong.

The well attended wedding ceremony of Kwabena Odame Ofori-Ntow of the Ghana Petroleum Commission, and Jennifer Ofori-Ntow of Volta River Authority (VRA), was held at the Accra Ridge Church.

The Director-General of Ghana Police’s Public Affairs Directorate, DCOP Kwesi Ofori, has retired from active service.

His retirement takes effect from Wednesday, July 20, 2022, following his attainment of the mandatory retirement age of 60.

The police are ,therefore, organising a pull-out and farewell ceremony to that effect at the National Police Training School, Accra from 10:am in honour of the outgoing senior officer.

Before his appointment as the Director General of Police Public Affairs Department, he served in other capacities, including the head of police operations at the Accra Regional Police Command.

In attendance will be the Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare and members of the Police Management Board.
