She passed away some weeks ago at the age of 23.

The family has announced that the laying-in-state and burial service will take place on Friday, 17th January 2025.

It will be held at the Holy Ghost Revival Centre, Assemblies of God, located at Odorkor near Busia Junction, close to Owusu Bempah’s Church. The service is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM.

Mildrid was the daughter of Mr. Stephen Kwame Dwomoh and Mrs. Hannah Marfo Dwomoh and the sibling of Naphtali Kwasi Dwomoh and Paula Akosua Birago Dwomoh.

The family has decided there will be no wake-keeping and invites all well-wishers to join them in celebrating her life.

In announcing the demise, Hannah Marfo is still rich in faith, remarking that “In good or bad, God is good.”

The heartbreaking loss came just months after a joyous reunion between the actor and his daughter.

Amilo had shared the emotional moment of their reunion on social media on August 21, expressing his happiness after two years apart.

However, their time together was tragically cut short when Chidera passed away just weeks later.

The cause of her death remains undisclosed, but the sudden loss has deeply affected the actor and his loved ones.

In a grief-stricken post on Instagram, Amilo shared scenes from the private burial of his daughter.

Friends, family, and fans have since flooded the actor’s social media with messages of condolence and support, offering prayers as he navigates this incredibly difficult period.

“The residents thought she was hurt. She later went to an agro-chemical shop and took one of the chemicals. But one of my nephews saw it and took it from her. According to her, two pastors (male and female) told her that her mother was a witch which forced her to kill her mother.”

The assembly member for Asenemaso electoral area, Isaac Owusu Boateng confirmed the tragic incident and disclosed that Joyce had also attempted to poison herself.

He highlighted the need for increased public awareness and education on such sensitive matters.

“This woman had 5 children and was always in a wheelchair. What I can say it, the media should educate people on issues like this. The pastor told her this but there is no evidence. In Ghana, some women respect their pastors more than their husbands.”

She commented: “I had a severe stroke this AM. I started breaking down crying when they told me.

It occurs when the blood supply to the brain is stopped.

Signs and symptoms of a stroke

Doctors sometimes refer to stroke as a heart attack for the brain. It happens when the blood supply to the brain is stopped.

The Stroke Association’s website says a stroke is a medical emergency, and its effects depend on where it takes place in the brain, and how big the damaged area is.

A stroke can be identified using the Fast acronym (Face, Arms, Speech, Time):

• Face weakness: Can the person smile? Has their mouth or eye drooped?
• Arm weakness: Can the person raise both arms?
• Speech problems: Can the person speak clearly and understand what you say?
• Time: The association says if you experience any of these symptoms, don’t wait, call your doctor

Although the fast test helps spot the three most common symptoms of stroke, the association says there are other signs that must always be taken seriously.

They include sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body (including legs, hands or feet), difficulty finding words or speaking in clear sentences, sudden blurred vision or loss of sight in one or both eyes, sudden memory loss or confusion, and dizziness or a sudden fall, and a sudden, severe headache.

The actor’s daughter was laid to rest just five days ago, on August 24, and now he has spoken up to share his thoughts and emotions surrounding her passing.

In a heartfelt statement, Nkem Owoh conveyed his sincere appreciation for the overwhelming support and love that poured in from friends, family, and well-wishers.

He acknowledged that facing tragedy is never easy, but the outpouring of condolences and kind words has provided a source of comfort and strength.

He wrote, “I want to thank you all for the support and love shown to me and my family When tragedy strikes, there is nothing more heartening than knowing that you’re not alone,
It was with deep gratitude that I received your note,calls with condolences.

We have seen many changes over the years, but this is a change I did not anticipate, and I am feeling an acute sense of loss. However, I know that because of your encouragement I will get through this time. Thank you for helping to push me through my grief”.

Kosisochukwu NkemOwoh passed on after a brief illness. She was 24. She was one of the two daughters of the veteran actor.

Kosi, as she is affectionately called, passed on after a brief illness on June 28, 2023.

However, Osuofia made the announcement on Friday, August 18 to invite all friends and sympathizers to the burial slated for August 24.

The late Kosi, who is one of the two daughters of the legendary actor, will be laid in state in their compound in Udi, Nigeria.

Interment at a private cemetery will follow suit.

In a poignant tribute, Osuofia noted that his daughter’s demise is a painful exit, but God knows best.

As the Nollywood community and the wider public come to terms with this heartbreaking loss, they have gathered support for Osuofia in this time of grief.

According to the husband of the deceased, he returned home at about 5:30 pm on August 3, 2023, and found the victim lying unconscious at the back of their house.

He rushed her to the hospital but she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The husband further alleged that their living room and bedroom were ransacked and a television set stolen.

The deceased has been identified as the daughter of Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Kwaku Baffour Kyei.

An initial assessment of the incident scene by the Police Crime Scene team revealed that no doors or windows in the house had been broken into.

Also, upon an inspection of the deceased body at the hospital, no marks of violence or gunshot wound were found.

The body has since been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy as the investigation continues.

The Police have visited the family of the deceased and are working with them to get to the bottom of the matter and bring perpetrators to face justice.

The Inspector-General of Police has also spoken to the family via a telephone call and assured them of a thorough investigation into the case.

A Police clinical psychologist has also been assigned to the family to assist them in these trying times.

The video was captured at a celebration to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Eleanor Akufo-Addo, the President’s late wife.

In the video which has attracted a lot of backlash, Miss Akufo-Addo, who wore a purple dress, was spotted beside her father who wore a black suit.

Some Ghanaians have accused the President of double standard given his reaction during the 2023 Green Ghana Day event when a chief did not stand up for the anthem.

However, others said there was nothing wrong with the video.

During the national anthem, the president spotted the chief of Mempeasem in Accra, Nii Torgbor Obodai Ampaw, and his elders seated.

At the event on June 9 2023, a visibly angry President Akufo-Addo directed the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey to take action.

Many have since questioned why the President couldn’t call his daughter to order under the circumstance.

In a recent post on her Threads handle, the content creator and YouTuber said she’s never felt so directionless and purposeless all her life.

This is coming shortly after news broke out that a court granted Yul Edochie’s first wife, May, full custody of their three children, as well as temporary custody of their mansion in Ajah, Lagos.

The court also reportedly warned the actor not to disturb his first wife, as they remain legally married.

According to the sources, Yul has been caught in a messy fracas with his first wife.

He allegedly did not want May to return to Instagram, as her presence on the app triggers backlashes for him. Despite his efforts to keep her away, May refused, claiming that she does business on her IG page.

The marital saga between May Edochie and her husband Yul Edochie has been a widely discussed subject on various social media platforms for several months and still counting.

The 17-year-old Stephanie Nana Adomah Appiah passed away on Wednesday after showing signs of ill health on Monday when she refused to go to school.

“My daughter is a science student so she takes her education very seriously. When she refused to go to school on Monday, I knew something was wrong so I forcefully took her to the hospital the next day. I had a feeling she was suffering in silence,” the actress shared in an interview.

Nana Yaa Appiah said her daughter only complained of headache, but tests results revealed she was suffering an infection and Malaria plus, in addition to shortage of blood.

According to her, the doctors put Adomah on emergency medication, but she resisted with the explanation she had to be in school for Girls’ prefect elections, of which she was a candidate.

Regardless, she was admitted for days in attempts to save her life as she deteriorated every passing day.

Nana Yaa Appiah revealed she was roaming in search for blood for her daughter when she received the devastating news of her daughter’s passing via phone call.

She revealed she was lost for a moment as she could not fathom how her daughter who was healthy a week ago was suddenly lifeless.

The loss of her beloved daughter has undoubtedly left a void in Nana Yaa Appiah’s life, and she is mourning the untimely loss with a heavy heart.

Burial arrangements have been made for July 8 at Atonsu, Kumasi.

Bona Mugabe, 33, filed for divorce from former airline pilot Simba Mutsahuni Chikore in March, and asked for the division of assets to be dealt with in a separate court case.

The BBC has seen court papers filed by Mr Chikore on 28 April in response to those of Ms Mugabe.

He demands joint custody of the couple’s three children and a share of the assets, which he says include at least 21 farms, some of which were acquired by the Mugabe family during the contentious takeover of white-owned farms about two decades ago, and despite the government’s “one-man one-farm” policy.

Mr Chikore also lists 25 residential properties, including a mansion in Dubai – with a total value of around $80m, luxury vehicles, farming equipment and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash.

He says the assets were acquired solely and jointly during their marriage, through inheritance and donations from the late president for work carried out on his behalf.

He adds that the assets he has listed are a drop in the ocean, compared to the wealth Ms Mugabe owns outright.

Zimbabweans have reacted with shock and outrage to the extent of the wealth allegedly amassed by just one of Mr Mugabe’s children.

Ms Mugabe has not commented on the claims but will have an opportunity to do so.

George Charamba, who was Mr Mugabe’s spokesman and now serves in President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s office, denied that the couple owned 21 farms.

“All Agricultural Land belongs to the State, with farmers using it on LEASE BASIS,” he tweeted.

He added that no-one should “build any politics or arguments around so-called 21 farms allegedly owned by Cde Bona and her estraged hubby”.

It is unclear when the divorce case – before a court in the capital, Harare – will end.

Ms Mugabe and Ms Chikore got married at a lavish wedding in 2014 that was attended by several African heads of state – and was broadcast live on state television.

Mr Mugabe died in 2019 at the age of 95, reportedly without leaving a will. He is survived by his wife Grace, Bona, two sons and a step-son.

He was in power in Zimbabwe from the time of independence in 1980 until he was ousted in 2017 by Mr Mnangagwa, his former ally-turned-rival.

Since her birth, Fameye has kept his daughter behind closed doors, unlike his son whose photos have been splashed all over social media.

As previously reported by PerthNow, mum Tahlia had been at work when she received a devastating phone call in September 2022. Taidyn, who was lovingly known as Totty to friends and family, was found unresponsive in the family’s back garden spa. The following day, she passed away.

After getting the photos back from her wedding, Tahlia says it made her feel “whole” knowing that her entire family had been there on her special day, and decided to show the image to her other children.

Recalling their reactions, Tahlia said: “My 12-year-old daughter started crying. Our four-year-old was like, ‘Can we go back and get Totty and bring her home?’

The name Aurelia is a reference to the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, and marks the third time in as many tries that Zuckerberg has given one of his daughters a name that calls back to one of the most powerful empires in history.

The 38-year-old’s first daughter is named Maxima, a twist on the Latin name Maximus. His second daughter is named August in reference to the Roman emperor Augustus Caesar, who Zuckerberg has called one of the “most fascinating” figures in history.

He is expected to reappear before the court on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

The man, who lives at Agona Asafo in the Central Region but hails from Aburi-Akuapem, was arrested by the police when he attempted to sell his two-year-old child.

The mother of the child narrated: “It’s his own child so sometimes he comes for her to go and play or to buy her something. Around 5:00 pm, he came for the child, I searched for them everywhere but didn’t find them, so in the night, this man came asking whose child is this, whose child is this?

“I came outside and claimed the child. Even when I was crying they asked me to take my child away to go to bed because it was late.”  

Yaw Kum, who alerted the Police, also indicated: “It was around 3.30 pm when the child’s father sent two boys that he was searching for someone to buy his two-year-old child.

“The boys were baffled when he told them that. So the boys came to tell me and I told them, I’ll buy the child myself, they should go and bring the father.”

He added: “The father came with the child and we agreed on the price to buy the child, so I told him I have this Alhaji I do business with, ‘so let me inform Alhaji’. I called the CID to come. He waited with the child for Alhaji till about 7 to 7.30 pm.

“The Alhaji finally showed up with a briefcase containing the money. When they came, they bargained with him and agreed on GHS20,000. He handed over the child to them indicating it is his own child. As soon as they handed over the money to him, they told him they were from the Police.”

The pair accepted the men’s promise to drive them back from holy site Piran Kaliyar, a holy site for Muslims and Hindus, on the banks of the Ganga Canal, Roorkee, Uttarakhand province.

Police superintendent Pramendra Doval said the alleged driver, named only as Sonu, already had friends in the vehicle when they picked up the unidentified women.

The mother said she could not tell exactly how many men were in the car – only that the driver was referred to by his friends as Sonu, NDTV reported.

Sonu and the men then raped the woman and her daughter in the moving car before dumping them close to the canal, police added.

The mother made her way to a nearby police station, where she reported the gang rape.

She was then taken with her daughter to Roorkee Civil Hospital, where doctors confirmed the sexual assault had taken place.

Police have been unable to locate the suspect, but said investigations are ongoing.

The sickening crime follows the gang rape of a 13-year-old last month in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh – with the officer she reported it to raping her again.

Station House Officer Tilakdhari Saroj was arrested after being caught on the run.

Saroj was charged under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), which introduced life sentences for convicted child rapists.

A recent study by World Vision India found up to half of the country’s children have suffered sexual abuse.

POCSO was brought in after the 2012 gang rape of Jyoti Singh, 22, by six men on a New Delhi bus, including the driver.

That incident sparked nationwide protests. 

All six perpetrators were convicted. One committed suicide in prison, four were executed, and the sixth, a minor, was released in 2015.

After the proceedings, Monday (June 20), the suspect, Evans Oppong Kyekyeku, pounced on journalists who were taking videos outside the courtroom.

“Why are you taking pictures of me, are you …?” the accused said amid rants and insults at journalists.

The timely intervention of the prosecutor and some police officers prevented the suspect who was in handcuffs, from physically attacking a court reporter from EIB network, Murtala Inusah.

One of Oppong’s sympathisers also fumed, “You can’t do this in Germany.” 

Proceedings

Meanwhile, at Monday’s proceedings, the court presided over by Ama Adomako Kwakye declined to admit the suspect to bail.

The accused, who has been provisionally charged with preparation to commit crime to wit murder, was remanded to re-appear on July 4, 2022.

According to the court, it does not have jurisdiction to grant bail to the accused person.

As the world unites to mark this year’s Fathers’ Day, award-winning Highlife artiste Fameye has shared his proud moment as he flaunts his second child.

Oppong, a machine operator, 47, was arrested on June 3 after he was exposed by the spiritualist who he had allegedly visited to kill his daughter.

The court, presided over by Her Worship Ama Adomako Kwakye, remanded him after the prosecution had prayed for him to be remanded.

The accused is on a charge of Preparation to commit crime to wit; Murder and his plea has been reserved.

Chief Inspector Richard Amoah, the prosecutor told the court that the police are yet to conduct extensive investigation into the matter.

He contended that the accused was arrested on June 3 and due to the weekend, a full investigation commenced today.

Lawyer Ralph Agyepong, who represented though did not oppose the request to have him remanded, he prayed for him to be allowed access to have a conference with him.

Her Worship Ama Adomako Kwakye remanded him into police custody and directed the police to allow counsel access to him on Tuesday and Thursdays between 9 am and 5 pm.

The case has been adjourned to June 20, 2022.

Brief facts

The brief facts of the case presented to the court by Chief Inspector Amoah were that, the Suspect Evans Kyekyeku Oppong aged 47 years is the father of the victim (name withheld)aged 11 years.

He said, the suspect has been living in Holland for many years but relocated to Ghana a year ago.

The prosecutor told the court that, in May 2022, the suspect discussed with a friend known as Kwame that he was facing financial difficulties.

Chief Inspector Amoah told the court that, the friend suggested that the suspect will need a spiritual cleansing to turn things around for him.

He added that the friend later introduced the suspect to one Nana Fosu alias Nana K.K to assist him to see a Spiritualist for help.

He said on May 29, Nana Fosu took the suspect to Nana Adu-Boafo Jnr who is a Spiritualist and a Herbal Practitioner at Oyibi Kon for money rituals.

Chief Inspector Amoah said, Nana Adu-Boafo Jnr agreed to do the money rituals for the suspect and directed him to buy a live python from someone in Kasoa to be used for the money rituals.

“However, the suspect later informed the Spiritualist that he is afraid of snakes as such he will come to him for further discussions on what to do.

“The suspect later had discussions with the Spiritualist during which the suspect suggested human sacrifice for the money rituals.

“The Spiritualist feigned interest and told the suspect to furnish him with the date of births of his last two (2) children to enable him determine which of them will be suitable for the sacrifice,” Chief Inspector Amoah told the court.

Call to Police

The prosecutor said, on May 31, the suspect rang the victim’s mother to confirm the day, the victim was born and told her that he will pick up the victim to be taken to a friend who had returned from abroad for measurement so that a dress will be sewn for her.

“The suspect furnished the Spiritualist with the date of birth as requested. The Spiritualist then alerted the Oyibi Police about the intended human sacrifice by the suspect and the Police urged him to play along with the suspect so he could be arrested when he produces the child at the Herbal Centre for the said sacrifice,” he told the court.

He added that the Spiritualist later informed the suspect that he had spiritually checked on the date of birth of the two children and that the victim will be suitable for the sacrifice.

He said the Spiritualist instructed the suspect to bring the victim to his Herbal Centre on June 3, 2022.

“In the morning of June 3, 2022, the suspect rang his elder brother to release his car to visit a Herbal Centre for treatment as a result of a car accident he had recently.

He said, that morning around 8.00 am, the elder brother released the vehicle to his son to go and pick the suspect to the herbal Centre and on their way to said Herbal Centre, they picked the victim at Amasaman.

Ghana must go bag

“At a spot at Oyibi suspect asked the driver to wait for him and he took over the car. The suspect later stopped and bought three “Ghana must go” bags and two bottles of schnapps.

“The suspect arrived at the Herbal Centre with the victim and she was instructed by the Spiritualist to sit in the Hall whilst the suspect was also instructed to change his clothing on the compound and was later given a white calico to tie around his waist.

“The suspect was then given a concoction to bath and in the course of that the Spiritualist called in the Oyibi Police who came and arrested him and rescued the victim. Investigation is on-going,” the prosecutor told the court.

Ji-an, who is the second of Van’s three children, turned 16 today, May 25.

The proud father took to social media to brag about his daughter and wrote the attributes that make her special.

“Confidence, intelligence, courage, smartness, people’s person, you are so selfless, generous and caring are only a handful of reasons why you are special to me,” he wrote.

According to Van, the pinch he felt when he witnessed his daughter’s birth is there till date, the reason he hates to see her sad.
