Sulley is currently receiving treatment at Agona Swedru government Hospital.

The suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Kwesi Obo.

Speaking to Adom News, some eyewitnesses narrated that Kwesi bought a cloth a few days ago but brought it back to change it but Sulley was away and met his wife.

However, Sulley went to confront Kwesi after his wife informed him, resulting in a heated exchange.

Through the intervention of some neighbours, calm was restored and they believed the matter had been settled.

But Kwesi later went to Sulley’s house to attack him and inflicted multiple wounds on him.

Kwesi absconded after committing the crime.

Anas, a 42-year-old, would next appear before the court on June 14, 2024, at Dambai in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region.

Prosecutor, Detective Chief Inspector S.K. Gavor, told the court presided over by Dramani Alhassan, that the suspect on May 28, 2024, inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on his wife on the farm in Banda of the Krachi Nchumuru District.

Chief Inspector Gavor said the Police checkpoint at Banda received a distressed call that a woman was screaming for help in the bush at about 0800 hours on the day in question.

The Police arrived at the scene to find the victim in a pool of blood, her stomach, forehead, mouth, shoulder and hands bleeding profusely from multiple deep cutlass cuts.

She was then rushed to Banda Health Centre for intensive care and later referred to Kpandai Polyclinic in the Northern region, Chief Inspector Gavor told the court.

He said the suspect was apprehended and sent to the Police station, where his caution statement was extracted.

The suspect, Anas admitted committing the crime and pleaded guilty, adding that, he was influenced by “Satan and his fallen angels.”

The unfortunate incident occurred last Friday while the victim, Raphael Oteng was working with his sister on their cashew farm.

His sister, Matilda Baafi narrated to Adom News that, the suspect came to the farm to ask them for water.

After granting his request, he began to make love advances towards her which she declined.

The suspect who probably felt his ego had been bruised grabbed Raphael and started struggling with him.

Matilda who was helpless said she rushed to nearby farms to call for help but upon their return, neither her brother nor the suspect were anywhere to be found except for blood stains.

She rushed home and discovered that Raphael has already been found and taken for treatment as he was in a critical condition.

Kwaku Boabeng, the father of the victim, revealed his son had two of his fingers slashed and on Saturday went through surgical sutures at the Berekum Holy Family Hospital.

Confirming the incident, a Unit Committee member, Emmanuel Effah Kwaku said the suspect absconded after the heinous crime but a search was mounted for him immediately the news got to him.

He was subsequently apprehended and handed over to the police.

The suspect has been remanded into police custody and set to return to court on April 30.

The incident reportedly occurred after the victim requested repayment of GH¢6, borrowed from her months earlier for a fish, in the Ayeboafo farming community within the Akyemansah District of the Eastern Region.

Information gathered by Adom News’ Kwasi Azor indicates that, the victim, Mary Obosu, 49 was attacked when the young men went into her room Wednesday night, March 20, at Ayeboafo.

Speaking to her daughter, Okyere Grace, she explained that, she and her mother went to collect GH¢6 from the young men which led to a heated argument but was later settled by the community members.

According to her, the two young men attacked her and her mother when they were asleep at night and allegedly attacked her mother with a cutlass and a broken bottle.

Grace Okyere said she recognised one of the suspects who lives in the same town.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Gyogon Grimah, told newsmen that the incident happened on February 22, 2024.

According to the CP, the suspect attacked his lover, Blessing Onawu, 25, with a machete for reneging on her promise to spend Valentine’s night with him after collecting N7,000 from him to make her hair.

“After waiting and the said lady did not show up, the suspect, Ubung, armed himself with a machete, went to the house of Onawu, attacked and gave her several machete cuts all over her body with the intent to kill her,” the CP stated.

“In an attempt by the victim’s mother to rescue her, he used the same machete to inflict injuries on her.

“A team of policemen were mobilised to the scene, and the suspect was arrested with the machete.

“The suspect was transferred to SCID for further investigation and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded,” he added.

The commissioner also said that the victim and her mother are receiving treatment in different hospitals.

While appealing for support from members of the public in the area of information sharing to tackle crime, Grimah said that the police command would continue to do its best to maintain peace and order.

“I want to assure law-abiding citizens that the command, under my stewardship, will continue to make Cross River maintain its record as the most peaceful state in the country.

The accused, who is mentally challenged, allegedly suffered an episode and inflicted severe cutlass wounds on his father, Daniel Nsowah.

Without any provocation, the suspect chopped off his father’s left hand, left foot and left ear.

The victim also had multiple deep cuts in the head, neck, shoulder, elbow and the ear in the process of the bloody event.

According to information gathered, the victim’s scream of help attracted neighbours who rushed to his rescue.

The perpetrator bolted leaving the victim in a pool of blood.

Mr Nsonwah is currently battling for his life at the Abura Dunkwa Government Hospital.

The police have, however, arrested the suspect and have kept him under close watch in custody.

Narrating his ordeal to Adom News correspondent Isaac Amoako, Mr Indago said the two brothers attacked him following a misunderstanding over a goat.

He revealed he was sleeping when the brothers barged into his room and attacked him.

He couldn’t defend himself as they pulled machetes at him and inflicted wounds.

He said that he had an agreement with the father of the suspects to take the goat after working on the latter’s farmland.

The farmer’s sister, Sariya Haruna, said the suspects were arrested but have been granted bail.

The brothers, reacting to the story, claimed the goat in Mr Indago’s possession is for their father.

The incident occurred at Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of the Central region.

Narrating the incident, a witness, Oheneba Ambrose, said the victim gave the suspect’s fiancee Ghc20 but little did he know that his act of kindness could cause him pain.

He disclosed the fiancee came to the site where the victim and her fiancee work and pleaded with the victim to give her Ghc5 so she could use it to buy food for her child since the fiancee was not around.

It is unclear what the suspect was told, causing him to attack the victim but some residents around separated them.

He subsequently went into his room, brought out a cutlass, and allegedly attacked the victim.

The victim sustained injuries in the neck, hand, and other parts of his body.

The suspect was later apprehended by residents, co-workers and handed over to the police.

The victims include a nine-year-old girl and a 60-year-old woman.

Reports indicate that the man is mentally challenged and had been caged in a room for some time now but escaped on Monday morning and attacked the victims.

The timely intervention of residents saved an eight-month-old pregnant Woman who was nearly attacked by the suspect.

He nearly chopped off the neck of the nine-year-old girl and the hand of the 60-year-old woman.

It took several minutes before the residents overpowered him and took the Cutlass from him.

The angry residents who nearly lynched the suspect handed him over to the Apam Police Station.

The nine-year-old girl who is in critical condition was rushed to the Apam Government Hospital but was referred to the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital.

The 60-year-old woman is however receiving treatment at the Apam Government Hospital.

The police confirmed the incident, adding the suspect will be sent to the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital for examination.

The ghastly incident happened during a verbal altercation between the two neighbours over who has the right to have in his possession keys to the source of water in the house.

A neighbour, who was present, said the wife of the victim, identified as Nana Sarfowaa, was demanding the keys to the water reservoir from Mr Asiedu, but he refused to release the said keys and attempted to beat madam Sarfowaa. 

The victim, who is madam Sarfowaa’s husband in a bid to save the wife from being beaten, rather in the end suffered severe cutlass wounds on the head.

The victim, Richard Cudjoe, is currently receiving medical attention.

When contacted on phone by Empire News’ Emmanuel Ohene-Gyan, the Kwesimintsim police commander Supt Lennox Aidoo said the suspect has been charged.

He will be put before a competent court of jurisdiction on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

Information gathered by Adom News‘ Kofi Adjei suggested that the victim, identified as Yaa Comfort, and the suspect had a brawl in the past which was believed to have been resolved.

The two were attacked in their shop on Sunday, May 2, 2021, when selling foodstuff in their shop.

The suspect, who is currently on the run, allegedly threatened to harm her children should he see them in the vicinity again due to the brawl with their mother.

The children rushed back home to inform their mother, a situation which caused their senior brother, Fred to confront the man.

The back-and-forth led to a fight between them amid further threats from the suspect.

However, moments after he returned to the shop, the thugs invaded the shop and inflicted cutlass wound on his head while the mother suffered cuts on her hand which was almost falling off.

They have since been rushed to the Kasoa Polyclinic where they are undergoing treatement.

No arrest has been made so far.

Police sources indicate the incident occurred around 04:00 hours on Monday, April 26, 2021, during an altercation with her 30-year-old husband named Abraham Quaye.

The husband was said to have hit his wife, popularly known as Obaa Yaa, with a piece of wood.

The wife in retaliation inflicted cutlass wounds on the husband’s neck and he was rushed to the Agona Swedru Government Hospital.

Police proceeded to the hospital and met the victim Mr Acquah at the hospital’s Emergency Ward with multiple deep cuts on his left jaw, neck and shoulder, but was responding to treatment.

A police medical report form was issued to the victim for endorsement by a medical doctor.

Meanwhile, complainant Miss Quaye a.k.a. Obaa Yaa, now suspect, has been arrested, detained and assisting Police with investigations.

Police reports indicate the incident occurred during a confrontation when the victim, Habib, caught two men with ladies having intimacy on his farmland.

Yahaya and his brother Mumin, who is currently on the run pulled out a cutlass and attacked the farmer when he confronted them over the abominable act.

Meanwhile, Yahaya is currently in police custody with Ibrahim Habib, receiving treatment at the Damongo hospital.

The Damongo police have also begun investigations as they prepare to arraign the suspect before court next week.
