The appeal comes in response to rising tensions over the ownership and use of portions of land between the two communities—a situation the chief fears could escalate into violence if not properly managed.

Addressing residents and opinion leaders in Boinso, Nana Miah cautioned that land-related conflicts have the potential to trigger long-term instability and loss of lives. He stressed the need for restraint and dialogue to prevent any future calamity in the municipality.

He further urged the Ghana Police Service, local political leaders, and other security agencies to intensify patrols in the area to deter acts that could disrupt the peace.

The EC, in a press statement released today, Wednesday, January 15, 2020 says it is working in the national interest hence the clarion call.

The EC in a meeting with the Advisory outlined the justification for the procurement of a New Biometric Voter Management System and the compilation of a new voters register for the 2020 general elections.

In the statement signed by the Chairman of EAC, Justice Emile Short, the EC said it was set to meet members of the IPAC to have further deliberations on the matter.
