Mika Shabasova died ‘ten minutes after she was administered local anaesthetic’ for the procedure, according to reports.

She was dead before an ambulance arrived at the ‘home surgery’ of cosmetologist Uma M, who is now under house arrest.

The beautician offered the £154 procedure after she studied on a ‘two-week course’, say reports.

She told state investigators in Makhachkala that she had repeatedly anaesthetised the skin of the victim with lidocaine, a local anaesthetic.

She had asked Shabasova if she had any allergies, she said.

The beautician is described as a former waitress who had no license for cosmetic surgery yet was carrying out ‘lip, cheek and butt enlargements’.

‘The cause of death will be established by a forensic medical examination,’ reported 112 media outlet.

The Russian Investigative Committee said: ‘A 22-year-old resident of Makhachkala while visiting her friend, who performs cosmetic procedures at home, died on the spot after the administration of an anaesthetic.

‘Currently, all the circumstances of the incident are being established.’

A friend of the dead woman said he had urged Shabasova not to undergo the buttocks procedure, which the Uma M had advertised.

‘The beautician who was supposed to perform the operation only recently received a certificate,’ he said.

‘She completed a two-week course and became a cosmetologist. Prior to that, she was doing lash extensions.’

Yet reports said she had no license for such cosmetic surgery.

The friend said: ‘Mika went to her, because Uma is her friend, purely because of trust.’

Three days before the surgery she had a fever and she was off work.

‘She lived with three girls in an apartment – they all tried to persuade her not to go to this beautician.’

He said that the woman ‘secretly, when everyone was at home, simply left the house, rang a taxi and went for this surgery’.

She had previously had lips, nose, and chin procedures.

‘These were with different anaesthetics. But within 15 minutes she was gone.’

Police questioned her friends, he said.

Maxine Messam, of Bridgeport, was left at Jacobi Medical Center on Tuesday after two unidentified women drove her to the hospital in her BMW SUV and walked off. 

The 53-year-old was left unconscious and naked from the waist down with needle marks on her body and a foreign substance injected into her buttocks, the NYPD said. 

The two unknown women who drove Messam to the hospital told the medical staff they found her in distress asking for help at Woodlawn Cemetery and offered to help her, according to police.

Authorities were later called to the scene around 1:51 a.m. soon after Messam died. 

‘We don’t know what happened,’ the victim’s shocked husband Carlos Simpson told the New York Daily News. ‘She was at work and she left work. So we don’t know what happened from there.’

Messam was dropped off at the Jacobi Medical Center by two unknown women who claimed to be good Samaritans who found her in distress at  Woodlawn Cemetery 

An autopsy has been ordered to reveal her cause of death, which is being investigated due to the suspicious circumstances. 

Detectives want to speak with the two women who dropped Messam off at the hospital. 

‘Everybody is really emotionally damaged at this point in time,’ Messam’s son, who declined to give his name, said. ‘I would like to say something but we don’t have all the details.’  

Botched cosmetic surgeries have become a growing and dangerous problem as enhancement procedures have become increasingly popular. 

A study published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that there was a 252 percent increase in buttocks augmentation surgery between the years 2000 and 2015.

While nearly every other cosmetic procedure saw a decrease in appointments before and earlier during the Covid pandemic, butt lifts saw a spike increasing by 22 percent from 2019 to 2020. 

The TikTok tag #bbl – Brazilian butt lift – has 4.6 billion views with users showing off their before and after photos and documenting their surgeries, which can cost upward of $7,000.

The increased cultural obsession with these procedures and their results combined with their high cost have pushed some people to find illegal and unregulated surgeries, which have lead to multiple deaths in recent years.   

Dr. Henry Spinelli, professor of plastic surgery and neurosurgery at Weill Cornell and New York-Presbyterian Hospital, has had five people visit him with significant complications from procedures performed by non-medical professional. 

‘There’s a risk of embolization entering large vessels and developing clots that spread to the lungs, etc., endangering one’s life. It’s not something I take lightly, and I would try to dissuade as much as possible,’ Spinelli told CBS New York.  

Mrs Obinim, who is married to the Founder and Leader of the International Godsway Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, caused a stir when videos of her ‘gargantuan’ backside went viral.

She was spotted at the birthday bash of her colleague Bofowaa, months after going on a hiatus.

The video attracted rumours that Mrs Obinim had gone under the knife in a bid to look more attractive.

Debunking the rumour in a latest interview, she affirmed that her butt is a natural gift from God.

Mrs Obinim touted the grace of God and blessings she receives for charity work as the reason for her new well-built stature.

“I have humbled myself before God and He has blessed me. He has given me all the money and beauty I need and that has become a headache for haters,” she said.

Also, she teased that she is probably now inheriting the genes from her mother, who is well known for her endowed nature.

“Everyone in my family is well endowed; my mother, sisters and everybody. I was the only skinny-looking person among them. Because of this, I pledged that I will never go out of shape when I give birth,” she clarified.

The musician, who said she has made a pledge to herself to stay beautiful unto the glory of God, added that she will do all it takes, including hitting the gym.

For naysayers who may not believe her, Mrs Obinim said God is her sculptor and anyone who criticises her is speaking against her maker.
