The musician has taken to social media to mourn the death of her grandmother she identified as Obaapanyin Mary Donkor and her sister, Justina Tetteh Ekua Annan.

Though details of the death remain sketchy, Empress Gifty shared an obituary of the duo whose funeral rites have been scheduled for October 14 to October 16, 2022, at New Takoradi.

Sharing the news with fans and followers on Instagram, she wrote: God why. I lost my grandmother and my sister eiiii.

Her announcement has welcomed commiseration messages from followers who have sighted her post.

Oscar was Selly’s personal publicist and protégé prior to his demise.

He passed on three days ago after suffering a brief illness. He was hale and hearty just a week before, when he visited Selly in her home.

In a touching tribute Selly wrote to her late friend, she recounted how they first met at a radio station aspiring to be a publicists when she was just 16 years old.

She said their relationship is that of a mother and son and Oscar has been of great help to her intellectually since they met.

The actress said she is devastated by the loss of the 24-year-old who was more like family to him and her husband.

She wrote:

“I found some great unconditional love for him as a mother would for a son and I was so proud I had ‘discovered’ a boy with such wide and rich knowledge in everything and an intimidating intelligence and confidence at such young age. Everyone who comes into contact with Oscar is awestruck in admiration.

“We hold conversations into the wee hours of the night, always upsetting my husband (which we enjoy), with our laughter and loud music.

“Am like a kid when am with my boy. I always look forward to his coming and staying over because I knew when I cook something delicious for Oscar he’ll tell me everything that’s happened with him in the few days he’s been missing in action especially with the girls, finances and work, things I needed to know so we polish all rough edges and quickly find solutions to any issue he’s facing. He’s so hardworking, independent and smart.

“And I was so proud watching him grow into the fine 24-year-old gentleman he is now about to turn 25, always happy and unbothered with life’s issues. A boy who listens and implements my advice, showers me with great compliments to get whatever he wants from me and makes me feel as special as he is to me.

“Great boy! My pride! My boy!”

His dad, Mr Sampson Bismark Gyampo passed on on Tuesday morning following an undisclosed illness.

He was 87 years.

The UG Associate Professor took to his Facebook page to break the news as he shares fond memories of the deceased.

Prof Gyampo shared a photo which he recounted was on 12th February 2022, when he accompanied his dad to the Airport on a trip to London and he [Snr Gyampo] said he wasn’t returning to Ghana.

He wrote: Folks this is my biological father, the man who gave birth to me. Mr Sampson Bismark Gyampo. He passed this morning. He was 87.

Dad, when I was escorting you to the airport to London on 18th February this year, you told me you won’t come back to Ghana again. This morning I had a call that you’ve passed.

You know I am strong but I am not strong at all…But I’ll see. Rest well.

Scores of sympathisers have taken to his comment section to pour out their commiseration messages.

COKA, as he is affectionately called, has taken to Facebook to mourn the death of a lady he identified as Freda.

He wrote: Rest well Freda. ‎One thing that our ancestors didn’t tell us or show us is how beautifully we come on this earth and unknowingly and sadly we leave this world. Till we meet again.

However, the cause of death is not immediately known.

Coka was part of four other candidates who were seeking to unseat Chairman Wontumi in the just-ended Ashanti Regional Chairmanship election.

But at the end of the elections on Saturday, May 28, 2022, Chairman Wontumi was retained after he polled 464 votes while his close contender, COKA obtained 306.

Mr Asare-Bediako had 22 while two others; Kwabena Owusu Aduomi and Oheneba Kofi Adum Bawuah polled nine and three votes respectively.

Shatta has announced the passing of his stepmother in a post he made on Snapchat.

Rumours were rife that the wife of his father, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Snr, passed away in their home at Korle Gonno, Accra.

Weeks after her demise, Shatta has confirmed her passing, and indicated it has affected him gravely.

As a result, he has shaved off his short dreadlocks as a sign of mourning.

Few weeks after her mother breathed her last at the Ridge Hospital after suffering a brief illness, Gloria has lost an on-set mother in similar manner.

Kumawood actress Maa Rita, who stars along Gloria in the popular Afiewura series, also lost her life in the later days of February.

She reportedly passed on during Gloria’s mother, Prophetess Ophelia Yeboah’s One-week celebrations.

Maa Rita was laid to rest over the weekend on Saturday, April 2.

Gloria Sarfo has described the pain of losing two important people as unbearable, adding that people do not understand her plight.

“…And on the day of my mother’s ONE WEEK observation,,, I lost my TV mother in EFIEWURA, same February at Ridge hospital, after a short illness. So I ask,,,, is it a mere coincidence, or there’s more to it?” she wailed.

Meanwhile, the final funeral rites of he biological mother has been set for 30th April at Akyem Osiem, Eastern Region.

The heartbroken actress took to social media to mourn the death of her father.

Reports indicate he passed on on Saturday, December 18, 2021, however, the cause of death is not immediately known.

Taking to Instagram to express her pain, she stated it was too sudden.

Following her announcement, social media has been inundated with tributes and testimonies in honour of the deceased though little is known about him.

According to him, the deceased has been a pillar in his political career right from his days at the University of Ghana (Legon).

The heartbroken legislator took to his Facebook page to mourn the deceased as he shares fond memories of him.

“You were my most trusted ally and an ever-dependable brother during our days as student activists all the way to my NUGS Presidency and thereafter.

“Death cannot defeat the golden memories we share,” he mourned.

Posting photos of him, he commiserated with his mum who he identified as Mama Philo, and two sisters; Naa Korkor and Naa Dede as well as his Legon year group mates.

This comes a few months after the former Deputy Education Minister’s dad, Theophilus Brown Kisseh Okudzeto, passed on after a short illness.

Reports indicate Alhaji Sharubutu passed on on Monday, July 12, 2021, with the cause of death not immediately known.

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,on Wednesday, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Imam to commiserate with him and the family at his Fadama residence.

He led prayers for the departed soul and expressed gratitude to Dr Bawumia for the visit.

Meanwhile, the third-day adua (funeral prayers) will be observed at New Fadama on Thursday, July 15, 2021.

She explained Ra stepped out after her househelp left the gate open only to be greeted with the unfortunate incident.

What may have caused the death of the young man is not immediately known.
