Known for his passionate and unwavering support for the NDC, Appiah Stadium’s presence was expected, but his choice of attire turned heads. Ditching his usual casual look, he arrived in a sharp three-piece grey suit, reflecting the formality of the occasion.

His confident demeanor as he interacted with lawmakers and dignitaries underscored his pride in witnessing Mahama address the nation.

Throughout the election period, Appiah Stadium was a constant figure at campaign rallies, rallying support for the NDC and standing by Mahama at key moments.

His appearance in Parliament was not just a show of admiration but a personal celebration of a leader he has fiercely supported, now at the helm of the country once again.

In an emotional interview with Kumasi-based R TV Ghana on July 12, 2024, he revealed that, Mahama’s intervention was crucial in saving his life under the erstwhile Atta Mills administration.

Then a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Appiah Stadium was an avowed critic of the Mills government.

This angered some members of the NDC who threatened to teach him a lesson.

Appiah Stadium recounted how a notorious gang member threatened him, and it was Mahama’s timely intervention that saved his life.

With tears in his eyes, he said, “If John Mahama becomes President and completes his term, I will follow him to his hometown, Bole. He is like a father to me, and I regard him as a god on this earth.”

He described his harrowing experience with the NPP, saying his car was set on fire by a feared figure in Kumasi named CD.

Despite taking the case to court, no one from the NPP testified for him, which forced him to relocate to Accra.

Appiah Stadium said the turning point in his life was when former President John Mahama called him and asked about the price of his car.

He said Mr. Mahama later arranged for then Ashanti Regional Minister, Samuel Sarpong to give him GHC90 million, surpassing the car’s worth of GHC49 million.

This act of kindness, Appiah said, led him to support Mahama when the opportunity arose.

He said since meeting the former President, he has been a blessing to his family.

Appiah Stadium revealed how Mr. Mahama paid for his wife’s fertility treatment in Holland and they now have two beautiful children.

“If someone has done so much for me, there is nothing I wouldn’t do for them” he added.

The Commission has said the allegation has no merit.

Serial caller and National Democratic Congress (NDC) faithful, Appiah Stadium, in a viral tape accused the journalist of receiving money from NDC National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, for doing a fantastic job for their party.

Appiah Stadium claimed one Alhaji Sani sent him to give $2,000 and an additional GHC2,000 to Mr Jantuah.

On these allegations, Archibald Ntiri-Acquah, Fredrick Addae and George Amponsah petitioned the Commission to investigate the allegations and take the necessary action.

But in a statement dated February 27th and signed by the Executive Secretary, George Sarpong, the Commission said no evidence was found against Nana Jantuah.

“The Commission found Frank Kwaku Appiah had recounted the allegations and admitted publicly that he had no evidence to back his claims.”

“After investigations, the Commission concluded that the confession of Frank Kwaku Appiah who made the original allegation must put the matter beyond controversy,” the released noted.

Meanwhile, the Management of Nhyira FM, a subsidiary of The Multimedia Group, had earlier stated that the allegation against its employee was unfounded.

A statement, signed by the General Manager, Kumasi Business, Jimmy Aglah, pointed out that the bribery allegations are ‘unsubstantiated.’

A popular sympathiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Appiah Stadium, has consoled the Suame Youth Organiser, Razak Koumpa over his arrest.

According to Appiah Stadium, although the incident has attracted a lot of backlash, it may be an act of God to push him to a higher dimension.

He explained that God has many ways of blessing people in life, adding it may be an opportunity for him to get an appointment in the next NDC government.

“Jesus went through a lot of tribulations before He was glorified and so maybe if Mahama comes, he will be rewarded because if you don’t go through challenges in politics, you will not even be remembered,” he said on Accra-based Neat FM.

To him, there is no point for the judiciary to be chastised because the law is only taking its course, adding that is not to suggest he is happy about the arrest.

Recounting his own arrest in 2017 for defaming President Akufo-Addo, Appiah Stadium indicated he is convinced Razak has learnt his lessons and will come out of this trouble a refined person.

“He went overboard and we don’t have to equalise or compare because some people have done it in the past but when I saw him behind the bars at Sofoline, I realised he has been through a lot and regrets his action but from the moral support he had at the court, I feel it will even boost the fortunes of the NDC in 2020,” he indicated.

Mr Koumpa was declared wanted by the police for allegedly inciting political violence in a video that has gone viral. He later turned himself in.

The accused appeared in court on Thursday amidst cheers and chants of party songs by NDC supporters who massed up at the Asokwa Circuit Court.

A viral video has captured popular National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist, Appiah Stadium, in a confrontation with a former Chairman of the National Peace Council, Rev Prof Emmanuel Asante.

Appiah Stadium accused the man of God of being a hypocrite over his posture on happenings in the country.

According to him, he could not fathom why a body that used to be vocal under the erstwhile Mahama administration has gone silent under the Akufo-Addo-led government.

At a gathering which appeared to be a funeral, Appiah Stadium, after exchanging pleasantries with Rev Asante, questioned if he was no longer a Ghanaian to comment on national issues.

But the man of God in the video was heard saying, “I wasn’t speaking in my capacity as a Ghanaian then. I’m not [Rev Dr] Asante-Antwi.”

The NDC supporter, who was livid during the conversation, further questioned the cleric, “Are you sure you are not a hypocrite?”.

In a rebuttal, he said, “I’m not a hypocrite, you [Appiah Stadium] is the hypocrite. So far as you do your bidding, I will not do your kind of politics.”

In their parting messages at the funeral grounds, Appiah Stadium told Rev Prof Asante that God would, one day, question him on his silence, to which the cleric retorted: “God will judge you more than me.”

Fuming with anger, he added, “He [God] will cut off your head,” but Appiah Stadium replied: “He [God] will slash your stomach, liar.”

Her search for the serial caller comes on the back of his plea for Akuapem Poloo’s clemency after a 90-day jail sentence was pronounced on her by an Accra Circuit Court.

Even though she was jailed on her own plea, Appiah Stadium, was in tears, pleading with the trial judge to temper justice with mercy.

In the said plea video, Appiah Stadium said he was going to buy bed sheets and other essentials that will make the actress’ stay in prison comfortable.

But, even before he could carry out his intentions, Akuapem Poloo regained her freedom on Friday, at least temporarily.

Though she was jailed on her own plea, he said the judge could have tempered justice with mercy.

Akuapem Poloo has been handed a 90 days jail sentence by the Accra Circuit Court over naked pictures with her son.

Her sentence has attracted mixed reactions especially on social media. But the judge, Christina Cann who expressed discontent with the alarming rate with which nudity on social media said Poloo’s case will serve as a deterrent to others.

Chocking on his tears, Appiah Stadium said he will buy bed sheets and other items for Akuapem Poloo to make her stay in prison comfortable.

“Akuapem Poloo, you are a good fighter. I’m proud of you” Appiah Stadium said.

Popular National Democratic Congress serial caller, Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, has expressed worry about the negative comments about the exoneration of the former secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), Mr Charles Bissue after the ‘Galamsey Fraud’ investigations.

According to him, though the embattled Presidential Staffer is not an angel, he should be allowed to work because he has been cleared by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

“I don’t know Charles Bissue personally, I know he did very well when it came to our relationship with North Korea. The fact is that, every human is bound to commit crime but I think the talk is too much.

“Let’s accept the police decision of clearing him and allow him to work without any interference,” he told Accra-based Okay FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.

Mr Bissue, who was indicted in the Anas exposé on fraud in the sector, stepped down due to what he said was in the interest of transparency and accountability.

Despite an ongoing parallel investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor, a probe conducted by the Police concluded that Mr Bissue did not circumvent the laid down procedures of the IMCIM, hence cannot be found culpable of any offence.

But, the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, has since condemned the interference in his office’s investigation of Mr Bissue after being petitioned by Tiger Eye PI.

According to him, he was coerced by operatives of National Security led by New Patriotic Party (NPP) Hopeson Adorye to render that apology.

“National Security operatives led by Hopeson Adorye pointed a gun at me and asked me to apologize. I was left me with no other option than to apologize” he bemoaned.

Appiah Stadium was picked up by the Ashanti Regional Police to substantiate an allegation made against the President and help with investigations.

But he was transferred to Accra for effective investigation and later sent to an unknown location pending investigations.

But after pictures and video of NDC serial caller begging for clemency began circulating on social media, he has mounted a spirited defense.

On Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday, Appiah Stadium said he rendered the apology under duress.

“I wouldn’t have apologized to President Akufo-Addo if I was not forced. I had to say something to save my life”.

Appiah Stadium claimed he was sent to the house of Madam Ama Busia where he met Prophet Owusu Bempah and he was maltreated for expressing his opinion.

He could not fathom why he was treated like a common criminal when he only stated the obvious truth.

“I was kidnapped and they were threatening to kill me if I don’t apologize so I had to do it” he stressed.

Appiah Stadium said though he regret insulting President Akufo-Addo, his apology was borne out of fear.

But in a quick rebuttal, Hopeson Adorye described as laughable to allegations by Appiah Stadium.

He said Serial caller shamed of his conduct is just making up stories to save his relationship with former President Mahama.

“When you watched the video did you see any gun pointed at his [Appiah Stadium] head?” He asked Ekosii Sen show host KABA.

Hopeson Adorye called on Ghanaians to treat the allegation with the contempt it deserves and focus on the bread and butter issues.

The outspoken politician was seen crying asking former President John Mahama to intervene on his behalf.

But since the video went viral, Appiah Stadium said it was deliberately leaked to disgrace him.

He maintained that, the National Security officers had threatened to kill him if he did not render the apology.

Appiah Stadium was arrested on Tuesday, September 26 by the Ashanti Regional Police to substantiate an allegation he levelled against Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that the First Gentleman of the land smokes ‘wee’ (marijuana).

But he was granted bail by the police. President Akufo-Addo also called for his release, saying he was not interested in pursuing that case.

Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM on Thursday, September 28 Appiah Stadium, who thanked the leadership of the NDC for the support shown him during his arrest, said he would reply in equal manner to persons who hurl insults at former President Mahama.

“President Mahama is my second Jesus Christ, anybody who will insult John Mahama, trust me, I will reply, I shall insult that person back.

“Let me add that I apologise to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the comments I made about him, I am deeply sorry because it is unbefitting for me to insult the President,” he said.

A day after he was arrested and granted bail by the police, for his wild allegations against the president, Appiah Stadium, as he is popularly called, treated pockets of NDC supporters in the Ashanti Region to some fine Adowa skills Wednesday afternoon.

According to him, inasmuch as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said he is “not interested” in the case of Appiah Stadium who averred he is a “drug addict”, Mr Hamid going ahead to describe Appiah Stadium as a propaganda tool is in bad taste.

“Mustapha Hamid is disgracing Nana Addo. How can you issue a statement and describe Appiah Stadium as a propaganda tool. I think it was unnecessary. If the President is not interested in the case, it is good news but going ahead and playing politics with it was useless” he said on Kasapa FM.

Appiah Stadium who was arrested for allegedly insulting President Nana Akufo-Addo has been released on bail.

He was granted bail on Tuesday night after being transferred to the Police Headquarters in Accra.

It is understood that, a team of high profile NDC members led by Baba Jamal, who is a lawyer, secured his release.

Appiah Stadium, a very vocal NDC serial caller in the New Patriotic party (NPP) stronghold of Ashanti, was arrested Tuesday morning by the police in Kumasi for allegedly describing President Akufo-Addo as a drug addict.

However Baba Jamal who lauded the President for stating that he is not interested in pursuing the matter said the minister must realize that the campaign season is over and Ghana is in their control now.

With that, he indicated that any statement issued should be on behalf of Ghanaians and it should unite rather than divide Ghanaians based on party lines.

“Mustapha talks as though they are campaigning. Meanwhile, you are in power and we expect that as a minister you speak in the interest of Ghanaians and not for political points” he stated.

According to him, the police acted unprofessionally by effecting an arrest without any charge.

“Police in this country like creating unnecessary tension. How can you arrest a serial caller based on social media rumours and handcuffed him. I find it offensive for them to handcuff him and fly him or whether they came by road to Accra…it is abuse of his rights.

“Even when Atta Mills was President of Ghana, someone called him a chimpanzee but he quickly asked that, that person be released when he was arrested and the current police we have now will quickly arrest a serial caller based on rumour.

“They only ended up making him a hero. Appiah Stadium is now a hero” he stated.

The NDC serial caller and staunch supporter of former President John Mahama was arrested and transferred to Accra but later released on bail at the CID Headquarters in Accra.

He was picked up by a combined team of armed police and personnel form the National Security over the comments he purportedly made last week on radio.

Though he has apologized for the unsubstantiated allegations against the number one citizen of the land, security operatives have refused to yield to his pleas.

But Mr Allotey Jacobs reacting to the development on Adom TV’s Morning Show ‘Badwam’ Wednesday, indicated that since Appiah Stadium rendered an unqualified apology to the President, there was no need for the state security to arrest him on allegations made.

“I do not think going to arrest the man in handcuffs is the right thing to do”, he opined while condemning the conduct of the Appiah Stadium.

Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, was given a police enquiry bail Tuesday evening, having been picked up from his Kumasi base to the Criminal Investigations Department headquarters in Accra.

He has also apologised to the president over his outburst.

In a press statement, the Information Minister Mustapha Hamid said Mr. Appiah was blinded by propaganda.

The President is therefore, convinced that right thinking Ghanaians recognise that Appiah Stadium is merely reciting from an NDC propaganda book, which has since been discredited.

The President has informed the Police administration that he is not interested in the matter and has asked them to be accordingly advised.

John Boadu wondered why such an experience politician will “encourage such stupidity” even when the offender has shown remorse and is even begging for clemency.

Appiah Stadium born Frank Kwaku Appiah is currently in police grips for branding President Akufo-Addo as a marijuana smoker.

In an audio when has gone viral on social media, the vociferous serial caller sympathetic to the NDC is heard saying who would have demonstrated how the President smokes the banned substance at the UN General Assembly if he had the opportunity to be there.

When the issue broke, he was invited by National Security and quickly rendered an unqualified apology promising not to repeat his mistakes.

But a day after the apology, Police in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi arrested Appiah Stadium to substantiate the allegation.

However, Mr. Asiedu Nketia peeved at the arrest said the serial caller only expressed his opinion. General Mosquito as he is popularly called maintained that, if President Akufo-Addo feels offended, he should seek redress in court.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, John Boadu was extremely shock at the conduct of Asiedu Nketia.

He could not fathom why instead of scolding Appiah Stadium for abusing the President, he is rather encouraging him to do more.

“No elder worth his salt will back such stupidity in politics and Asiedu Nketia as an elder should know better” he fumed.

John Boadu who is also the National Organizer of the NPP said the NDC scribe has no moral right to teach government about free speech

Asiedu Nketia is now an advocate for free speech when he together with some NDC members vehemently kicked against the repeal of the Criminal Libel Law. He is not qualified to give us lectures on free speech” he added.

John Boadu urged the media to focus on the bread and butter issues confronting Ghana than making Appiah Stadium unnecessarily popular.

According to him, since President Akufo-Addo played a role in the repeal of the Criminal Libel Law during the first administration of the New Patriotic Party under John Kufour, Appiah Stadium should not be reprimanded for exercising his rights in what he described as freedom of speech against the President.

“Why should you fault Appiah Stadium for insulting the President? He (Nana Addo) played a role by repealing criminal libel law and allow freedom of speech and if he feels insulted, then he should sue Appiah Stadium and not allow the BNI to intimidate the boy” he said Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show Tuesday.

Appiah Stadium was captured in an audio circulating pouring sickening invective on President Nana Addo during his recent visit to the United States.

The popular serial caller tagged the president a “wee smoker” and later likened him to a “monkey”.

Appiah Stadium was believed to have sent the recorded verbal abuse to some NDC platforms which was allegedly later leaked by his own group members – where it had since gone viral.

A top NPP guru, Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori-Atta aka ‘Tomtom’ who was part of Ghana’s delegation to the US, said he would make sure Appiah Stadium is dealt with by the law.

Tomtom, who was furious by the insults said he will drag the Appiah Stadium to court; and subsequently lodged a formal complaint with the security agencies.

Though the acerbic-tongued supporter of ex-President John Dramani Mahama is now pleading for mercy, Mr Asiedu Nketia asked the President to rather protect Appiah Stadium for exercising his rights as a citizen of the country.

General Mosquito as he is popularly known believes Appiah Stadium should be celebrated rather than intimidated by the National Security.

“Appiah Stadium has utilized his rights and I think he should be celebrated for being bold and stating his stands on the President”.

“President Akufo Addo should rather protect him and stop the national security from intimidating those who speak freely. If he feels insulted, then he should sue him” he warned.

He explained that ever since declassified Wikileaks report by former United States Ambassador to Ghana, Pamela Bridgewater, on the profile of NPP presidential aspirants ahead of the 2008 elections accused Akufo-Addo of drug use, he has not cleared himself.

Asiedu Nketia made the comment while commenting on an invitation of popular serial caller Frank Kwaku Appiah popularly known as Appiah Stadium by National Security for calling President Akufo-Addo a ‘drug addict’.

The vociferous supporter of National Democratic Congress (NDC) rendered an unqualified apology to the President after he claimed in an audio that has gone viral that the President smokes marijuana, popularly known as ‘wee’.

But Asiedu Nketia on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Tuesday questioned why Appiah Stadium is apologizing for stating an ‘obvious truth’.

He said it is becoming increasingly obvious that the issue of drug use is now an albatross tightly fixed around the neck of the President.

“The NPP repealed the Criminal Libel Law so everyone is at liberty to speak his mind and make any allegation against anyone so Appiah Stadium has not done anything wrong to warrant an invitation from the National Security” he added.

General Mosquito said if President Akufo-Addo feels peeved, he should rather sue Appiah Stadium in court and quit using the security apparatus to haunt him.

Appiah Stadium, who has been hurling insults at high profile personalities in the country, caused a stir last week when he made the baseless claims on a local radio station.

Without provocation, the serial caller sympathetic to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) claimed President Akufo-Addo is an ardent smoker of the banned substance.

His statement which was condemned by many has earned him an invitation by the National Security.

But a remorseful Appiah Stadium on Accra-based Neat FM pleaded with President Akufo-Addo for clemency.

According to him, the allegation was baseless and borne out of malice thus the President should not punish him.

“I know I have erred and have insulted the President. In fact, I have known no peace ever since I made those comments and I don’t want to go through such experience again. I will silly so they should forgive me especially Nana Addo” he pleaded.

If punished for his unfortunate comment, Appiah said his enemies in the NDC will jubilant.

“Some NDC members don’t even like me because I’m always seen praising Mahama and supporting him even after we lost and if they see that I’ve been punished for my comments, they will be happy and I don’t want that to happen. I love my family very much and don’t want anything to happen to them” he cried.

Speaking with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Tuesday, Appiah Stadium mentioned that President Mahama was very competent and the most credible person to lead the NDC again. He warned that if the former president fails to come back and dethrone Nana Addo and the NPP administration in 2020, he will crush his testicles.

According to Appiah stadium, he wants President Mahama to stage a major comeback in 2020 and was eagerly looking forward it. The controversial NDC activist rejected suggestions that he was just bragging, adding that it was about time people stood up for what they believe in.

He added that he is not a coward like Assin Central’s Kennedy Agyapong who threatened to poison himself if Ibrahim Mahama is not jailed for alleged acts of corruption.

He added that Kennedy Agyapong should have poisoned himself by now if he really meant what he said.

The fetish priest who calls himself Dr. John Kofi Adarkwah claimed some members of the NDC are planning a sinister agenda against the serial caller who has now an ardent supporter of former President John Mahama and his family.

His warning comes after a vice chairman of the NDC, Anita De-Soso threatened to torment the life of the serial caller which will force him out of the garden city, Kumasi.

She explained that Appiah Stadium’s distasteful utterances have over the years affected the NDC yet he rather apportions blame to some leadership of the party.

Her comment was in response to the serial caller’s claim that she Anita De-Soso and Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho have a grand agenda to ruin the political future of ex-President John Mahama.

Appiah Stadium called Antia’s threat a bluff adding that “She has bitten more than she can chew. I dare her to chase me out from Kumasi and if she doesn’t, I will chop off my penis. Was she drunk before saying that? he quizzed.

But the conduct of the NDC serial caller, the fetish priest on Nhyira FM’s ‘Kuro yi mu nsem’ said is very deadly.

He said Appiah Stadium will be digging his own grave if he continues with the attacks on the NDC leadership.

“Appiah Stadium should be very careful; if he is able to survive till December, he should thank God. He should watch what he eats and monies he accepts from people” the fetish priest warned.

Appiah Stadium has been in the news lately condemning some faceless NDC activists who allegedly are plotting to prevent the comeback of the former President John Dramani Mahama in 2020 to contest against the incumbent NPP government.

Appiah Stadium believes the NDC MP for Yunyoo, Joseph Bipoba Naabu, who has said giving the ex-President another chance to lead Ghana will mess Ghana up is one of the few senior NDC members who have synergized with the likes of the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Koku Anyidoho, and Vice Chairperson of NDC, Anita De-Soso to deny the ex-President the opportunity of staging a comeback.

He reinforced his claim with an interview Koku Anyidoho granted GHOne TV some few days ago during which he made a statement to the fact that, “leadership will rotate, “I loved President Mills, but I only worked for President Mahama.”

According to Appiah Stadium, executive members in the party are not supposed to mention ill words towards the NDC party.

“If the top NDC men are sleeping, they should wake up right now. Koku Anyidoho should wake up. They are some agendas been cooked up to take John Mahama out of the party. It doesn’t show respect…”

He further indicated that their actions have granted green light for the NPP members to roll their mouths free instead of criticizing their gestures pertaining to their current governance in the country.

“We have stopped our agendas to significantly criticize the NPP government. We have allowed them the chance to freeroll their mouths against us. I don’t mean Nana Addo is not governing well.

All those who want John Mahama out should present their candidates so we can easily know. If they don’t respect John Mahama, the party might be dissolved…” he said to Okay FM.

Appiah Stadium has been in the news lately for claiming that he would continue to demand that the former President contests the 2020 eLections on the ticket of the NDC.

According to him, prior to the party’s defeat, some NPP politicians took to radio to mock him when his wife, Madam Fosua, was unable to give birth after years of marriage.

This situation, he said compelled former President Mahama to step in to and assign a special doctor to examine her which yielded positive results.

“If not for John Mahama, I would have no kid to call me father. He isn’t a herbalist or a pregnancy specialist but NPP activists humiliated me on air concerning the then barrenness of my wife.”

“It was John Mahama who assigned a special doctor to examine her and after that she conceived more than once…,” he said.

This gesture of the President, he said would compel him to rally support for the former President and compel him to contest the 2020 polls on the ticket of the NDC.

“If John Mahama doesn’t come back, I will organize some people so we go and bring him back to contest against the NPP party. John Mahama must be respected…” he told Okay FM.
