A statement made by the renowned Ghanaian DJ and radio presenter a few weeks ago, seems to affirm reports that he has rekindled his friendship with dancehall star.

In one of the episodes of Daybreak Hitz, Andy Dosty openly expressed deep admiration and affection for Shatta Wale.

“I’m good friends with Shatta Wale and I love him so much,” Andy mentioned while having a conversation with Prophet Nigel Gaisie.

Prophet Nigel Gaisie was on the show to delve deeper into the positive turn of events in the December 7 elections.

During the conversation, Shatta Wale’s name came up and Andy for the first time after the reconciliation gesture, made the statement which indicated that their long standing rift had come to an end.

This conversation marks a significant moment for fans and followers of the two personalities, promising a collaborative and harmonious future in the Ghanaian music industry.

In the meantime, a lot of fans of Andy Dosty and Shatta Wale have expressed their anticipation to having the dancehall giant appear on Daybreak Hitz.

Recounting the tragic events, Andy Dosty said his sister was admitted to a medical facility (name withheld), where he personally requested a special ward for her.

However, during her stay, a male nurse refused to give her a vital medication insisting that, his shift was over.

Despite pleas for immediate action, the nurse remained adamant about leaving at the end of his shift.

When all means of negotiation failed, Andy Dosty disclosed that he had to confront the nurse and even resorted to physically stop him from leaving.

“As I turned to speak to my sister, the guy picked his bag, stepped out and was leaving. I became confrontational and asked him someone is dying, where’s your conscience? I was so angry. Another nurse approached us to intervene and the person alerted him that I am a celebrity before he decided to administer the medication”.

Tragically, Andy Dosty received the devastating news while on air that his sister had passed away.

Despite his overwhelming grief, the Hitz FM presenter said he persevered through the remainder of his show before rushing to view his sister’s body.

His heartbreaking account is to shed light on the critical importance of diligence and compassion in healthcare.

During his show on Tuesday, one of his social media followers wrote a comment that caused the radio presenter to vent his spleen.

Earlier, Shatta Wale premiered a song that got a line dissing Andy Dosty. The duo have been going back and forth over industry issues for months now.

Reacting to the negative comments, Andy Dosty said he will address the issues at the right time but wanted to let his critics know, he doesn’t “just bark but bites hard” when pushed.

Meanwhile, on Asempa FM in February 2024, Andy Dosty settled the dust, saying what people see on social media is not what happens at the background.

Andy also said no one can settle the issues unless he and Shatta Wale himself.

“Hate him or love him, that is how he is. He is fine and the last time we met at the airport. He asked someone to come greet Bisa Kdei and me, but the guy couldn’t deliver mine. It was hilarious. That is how he is, and I know him, I have met him on some occasions. Whatever is between us is much deeper than how people see it.”

Complaining about Shatta Wale, Andy Dosty said “he is taking it to the extreme. Where he dissed my mother is what pained me. I could diss him back, but I don’t want my children to see that… We must have a very cool environment, but he has taken it overboard that it has generated hatred among the fanbases”.

But Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex who was on the show, also faulted Andy Dosty in some instances.

“It’s about the two of them and one of them must tone down their ego and everything will be solved.  Andy said, sometimes Shatta takes things extreme and someone looking from afar might think Andy also takes things to the extreme. There are moments he said he won’t play Shatta’s songs or mention his name on his shows and no big artiste would like that,” Sammy Flex noted.

He revealed this on Asempa FM Showbiz Review, while addressing the strained relationship between Shatta Wale, Michy, and their son Majesty.

Expressing deep concern for the well-being of the family, Dosty said he is committed to ensure Shatta Wale sees his son.

“When you call Michy, she will tell you the number of hours I will speak to her to change her mind to allow Shatta Wale to see his son. These are some of the things we do backdoor. I thanked her for allowing that to happen. I contributed” he stated.

The revelation sheds light on the behind-the-scenes efforts undertaken by Andy Dosty to facilitate communication and understanding between the estranged couple.

He therefore could not fathom why fans of Shatta Wale will attack when he is rather seeking his interest.

Andy Dosty explained that, even though Shatta Wale says many bad things about him, it doesn’t mean he wishes him ill luck.

“I can face him physically, why is he who?” Andy Dosty challenged, referring to Shatta Wale’s purported disrespect.

He further disclosed personal efforts to mediate between Shatta Wale and his former partner Michy, emphasizing the importance of resolving conflicts behind the scenes.

In response, Sammy Flex blamed Andy Dosty noting that, the radio host had also contributed to the escalating tensions.

He referenced Andy Dosty’s previous remarks on boycotting Shatta Wale’s music and questioned the intention behind his advice to other artistes.

Dosty revealed that, he had been collaborating with Kuami Eugene on a project, during which he discovered the depth of the artiste’s songwriting prowess.

According to Andy Dosty, the unreleased songs penned by Kuami Eugene surpasses those already in circulation, showcasing his remarkable ability to write captivating melodies and poignant lyrics.

“There is something about Kuami Eugene… he is our golden child, I was working on a project with him and the number of good songs that he has, songs he has written.

“Songs that he has written and not out yet are way better than the ones that are out, and he is so rich when it comes to songwriting, Kuami Eugene’s talent is amazing, no wonder anyone he writes songs for blow up. I think that the songs he has, there is nothing like it. [SIC]” Andy Dosty said.

‘The Library’, which was adjudged Radio Programme of the Year at the 2023 Radio and Television Personality Awards, presents well-researched information on musicians and other music players in the industry has since its inception, won the admiration of a lot of music consumers and aficionados.

According to him, he became alarmed when he met the young lady because their height, facial features and mannerism were similar.

However, Dosty in an interview Delay stated unequivocally that, she is not his daughter.

This, he explained is because his ex-girlfriend who is mother of the girl said he [Andy] is not the father.

Not convinced, Andy said he considered going for a DNA test to confirm paternity but was urged not to waste his money.

This notwithstanding, he said he plays a fatherly role in the child’s life, including funding her education.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Showtym with Andy Dosty over the weekend, he said their reconciliation was facilitated by a respected person whom dancehall artiste reached out to.

“So we have spoken. But the matter is not done. I know it will make headlines but all I can say is that we have spoken. He [Shatta Wale] called someone to call me, and we spoke for almost fifty minutes. He also said some things that he also didn’t like” Andy stated.

The Hitz FM presenter said his mother also asked him to reconcile with Shatta Wale.

“I told him we still have issues and my mother is also saying we should let it go because we are brothers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Andy Dosty said Shatta Wale’s apology is not enough. “I won’t let go just like that.”

According to him, the controversial musician disrespected his mother during one of his performances last year.

Andy Dosty revealed this after a listener of the show, via text, asked why the Shatta Movement leader’s Maali album was doing great, but Andy was talking about it.

In response, the presenter said he will not waste airtime on an artiste who does not respect his mother.

“You want me to talk about it? An artiste that stands on stage and insults my mother and you want me to what?” he fumed.

The livid presenter condemned Shatta Wale’s penchant to insult people who disagrees with him.

“I love my mother, and I won’t speak ill of anyone’s mother; she raised me well.If you don’t have sense, I do. If you don’t respect, don’t come here. The woman who gave birth to me has lived a good life and has a good place to live” Andy Dosty added.

Bemoaning the love for foreign music by Ghanaian music consumers, the celebrated disc jockey said that even though he always tries to play more Ghanaian music when he is booked for events, there was a time he had to play Nigerian music at the behest of a patron.

Andy explained that at the event, the people were seated while he played Ghanaian music until a lady walked up to him and showed him a playlist of Nigerian songs she wanted him to play.

“I’ve been to a party where I was easily playing music and everyone was glued to their seat. All of them were glued to their seat. No one wanted to get up and dance. It took one bold lady that walked up to me and she gave me her phone with a tall list of Nigerian songs, asking me to play any of them else they were leaving. I was asking myself questions. I was forced to play it.

“This was at Paul Adom Otchere’s house. Big party with big people. And all of them were seated until I touched one Nigerian song and they all got up to dance, then I felt so ashamed. Like really, what’s happening? So the problem is us, the people. We don’t like what we have,” he said.

Andy also stated that he is the type of DJ that can perform two hours of Ghanaian music, except in “difficult” situations.

He said the DJs can push the campaign to play more Ghanaian music but if the people don’t like the songs, they will not respond positively to it.

“I think that we don’t appreciate our music. Period,” he added.

He made this statement on ‘Joy Entertainment Unpacked’, during the discussion on how well Ghanaian music can be promoted globally.

This season, the people’s favourite from the past four editions have been chosen to compete and show off their music prowess for the next 13 weeks.

The contesting talents are Victor Twum Ampofo, Reniel Aboakgye, Grace Adom Sarkodie, Gamado Somoah Isaac, Jenice Abena Aboagye, and Truth Ofori.

The list continues with Jemima Darkoa Gyabs, Righteous Vandyke, Daniel Antwi and Precious Mbir.

The Nsoromma team highlighted the need to bring back contestants who were on top of their game and were also favourites of the patrons.

“We want to resurrect some of them again. They had to ran with the fame, and now we will usher them further into the limelight. It will be a wonderful show to see champions compete,” Mawuli, one of the Nsoromma producers, said to Adomonline.com.

Meanwhile, Adom FM’s Ofie Kwanso host, Jerry Justice, will be the host of the Nsoromma Plus show, with Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz presenter, Andy Dosty and gospel music legend Akosua Agyapong being the judges.

This year brings into play the ‘Star Trophy’ award which will be accorded to contestants weekly by judges. The three contestants with the highest stars awarded by judges will get the chance to be at the final stage.

The two contestants with the highest number of votes will be joined by these three ‘Star trophy’ contestants – making it five contestants to compete for the ultimate crown.

The winner of the show will be presented the ultimate award of GHC 20,000 with other packages including a holiday bundle abroad.

Adom TV’s Sister Sandy will equally be present to gear up the contestants with her interviews and pre-show interactions.

The latest award comes shortly after he was honoured at the Ghana Events Awards for being the longest serving DJ in Ghana.

He made this revelation on Joy Entertainment’s Daybreak Hitz on Monday.

Andy Dosty had been tasked to represent Ghana at Creative Africa Nexus at the Intra-African Trade Fair 2021, essentially entertaining attendees with strictly Ghanaian music.

However, things didn’t go as planned, as he was emphatically asked to halt his session while playing KiDi’s Touch It, a song that got dozens of ladies dancing at the fair.

In a bid to popularise Ghanaian music as well as entertain people at the fair, Andy Dosty attempted to teach the dancers the official dance to KiDi’s hit single ‘Touch It’.

This was abruptly ended as a security officer walked to him and asked him to “turn the music off”. A resistant Andy, would not conform, triggering a reinforcement of armed security guards.

“I felt a bit embarrassed, but I was very calm when a [DJ] explained [matters] to me, but earlier I felt I was being ridiculed,” he recounted.

He said the idea of ‘Ghana Day’ did not materialise.

According to Andy Dosty, “they [organisers] requested that we pay $300,000 for the space.”

Apparently, the Nigerian delegation failed to also meet the financial requirements and thus rented a space outside of the prescribed allocation to promote their country.

Meanwhile, Andy Dosty said he is safe. 

The award-winning radio host has been tasked to play strictly Ghanaian Music on Friday, November 19, 2021.

His invitation to Creative Africa Nexus at the Intra-African Trade Fair 2021 came through the Ghana Tourism Authority.

In a quest to highlight Africa’s creativity, Creative Africa Nexus will “exhibit, showcase and network with policy makers, prominent investors, and financiers, through leaders and other creative sector practitioners”, including Andy Dosty.

Speaking to KMJ on Hitz 103.9 FM, Andy Dosty revealed, “I was chosen to perform strictly Ghanaian songs, to a wider African representation”.

His performance is slated for Friday, and is labelled ‘Ghana Day’.

The fair has seen some dignitaries such as Nigeria’s President Buhari. A few more influential persons are expected to pass through to see a successful trade fair in Durban, South Africa.

Award-winning Andy Dosty has worked hard for the recognition and has yet another opportunity to show the world his prowess and fully wave the flag of Ghana high with music, strictly of Ghanaian origin.

He received the award at the 2021 edition of the Ghana Events Awards which took place at the Movenpick hotel over the weekend.

Andy Dosty received the honours for being the longest-serving Disc Jockey (DJ) in Ghana, owing to his 27 years of being behind the turn-table.

Known in private circles as Andrew Amoh, he has made a remarkable impact on the cultural ethos of DJing in Ghana and has been an example to many of his colleagues.

Notable among his works are years of playing at the VGMA, MTN Music Festival, high profile parties and festivals, both in Ghana and beyond.

Andy Dosty is also the founder of a DJ school that has sharpened the skills of thousands who are keeping the flames of the career burning.

He has also shared stages with international artistes including Wyclef, Steel Pulse, Sisqo, Busta Rhymes, Shatta Wale, Okyeame Kwame, Stonebwoy and many other top names in the showbiz industry.

Based on the backdrop, the Ghana Events Awards saw him befitting, without question, to receive the citation of honours.

Andy who described the award as humbling used the opportunity to thank God for the talent while dedicating the award to his children.

According to him, it forms part of the “foolery” on social media where some people have fun by denigrating the status of others.

Speaking to Joy Prime’s IB, the Hitz FM presenter asked his fans to forgo such reports tagging them as very unfortunate and unnecessary.

Andy Dosty went further by showing off his trousers to rubbish such rumours at the VGMA event grounds.

It’s very unfortunate… my trousers aren’t torn… If the camera can show it clearly. My zip wasn’t opened either… it was very unfortunate that people make such unnecessary noise and too much foolery on social media so yeah... he responded.

During his conversation with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the artiste was emotional as he recounts his long arduous journey to the music industry, which has brought him to the point of having a seat to be interviewed by Andy Dosty.

The emotional Shaddy Reigns said he considers meeting Andy Dosty as an achievement in his burgeoning career.

“It’s like a dream come true to meet you to interview me because I’ve worked for this for a long time to get into your presence to have a chat. I feel like I’ve done it all,” he said.

Andy Dosty, who was touched by the young man’s words, promised to help the young artiste to go the full distance as he works towards his dream and reminded him of the fact that there is more ahead of him.

But, before Andy Dosty could finish his points, Shaddy Reigns, who was touched by Andy’s words, broke down crying.

The Money hit maker made this revelation in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz.

The young artiste was beaming with smiles when he told Andy Dosty that his grandmother named him Andy because she was a huge fan of the radio presenter/musician.

The funny thing is that I was named after you. My Grandma was a big fan of you. My name is Andy Osei Sarfo, he said during the interview.

Kweku Flick, also added that his grandmother loved Andy Dosty’s verse on Asem’s Give Me Blow remix.

Kweku Flick broke into the limelight after his song ‘Money’ became a hit in 2020.

However, his performance did not come as a surprise to many as he is not only known to be a DJ but also a rapper/musician.

The Hitz FM morning show host beat competition from Citi FM’s Bernard Koku Avle and Captain Smart of Angel FM to grab the award. 

Andy Dosty is also the host of the weekly ‘Adom Chart Show’ on Adom FM.

The second edition of the event happened at the Africa Trade House in Accra.

Other winners at the event include Israel Laryea, Gifty Anti, Portia Gabor, Kabutey My MC, Berla Mundi, Afia Amankwah Tamakloe and many others.

This was the disc jockey’s reaction to his nomination in this year’s African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).

In an interview with Hitz FM’s Noella Kharyne Yalley on Hitz News @1, he said:

“I was excited to see my name in there but, I’m a bit disappointed in myself because it comes with a heavy task. Also, because I think that I’m growing.”

As a longstanding active player in the industry, he believes that the nomination would have better benefited younger disc jockeys who are looking for their time in the international spotlight.

“This is something that could have been given to my younger brothers. The likes of DJ Vyrusky, Bridash, Ikon, Wobeti, Castro etc. so I was hoping that these guys could get that opportunity and not necessarily me,” he intimated.

Andy, who hosts Hitz FM’s flagship morning show, Daybreak Hitz, was nominated in the BEST DJ AFRICA category, and he faces stiff competition from other renowned DJ’s like:

Sharing his opinion on why he ended up as the only Ghanaian DJ with a nomination, he said:

“I will one 100 percent disagree with anyone who thinks that Ghanaian DJ’s aren’t working, we’re doing exceptionally well and look, the top DJ’s that we have here can stand toe-to-toe with any DJ who thinks is on top.

“But the people, who are with these award schemes, travel far and wide, and they watch. So they may have chanced on my work at a certain event, but probably would not show up and say they’re from AFRIMMA or the GRAMMYS and have seen what I do.”

When asked how his nomination will shape his career going forward, he said:

“It comes with a heavy task. Now I need to go back to the drawing board, I need to start checking which song comes first, which song is trending.

“If you weren’t active, you need to get back at being active with your memory, get closer to places you ordinarily wouldn’t be. Your prices are going to shoot up and you need to upgrade because when you become Africa’s best DJ, then you’re getting very close to the world stage.”

Celebrated DJs Andy Dosty and DJ Black will entertain their fans during this year’s edition to spice up the Awards.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz, Merqury Quaye revealed that there will be that ‘Battle for supremacy’ where both DJs will show off their class.

“It’s been seven years and I am pulling a challenge in this year’s edition. I am putting it out here officially that there will be a battle between Andy Dosty and Dj Black,” Mr Quaye announced.

Andy Dosty has so far declared his acceptance of the challenge, but DJ Black is yet to make any declaration.

Leading Ghanaian disk jockey and host of Hitz FM morning show, Daybreak Hitz, Andy Dosty, has made some interesting revelations about his early live in new video.

Andy Dosty made the revelations when he joined Dr Pounds on Hitz Gallery on Hitz FM for an interview. 

He disclosed, among things that he enjoyed the relationship with the woman because she really loved and respected him. 

Explaining his choice of an older woman, the presenter said most of the young ladies he dated or tried to date were disrespectful.

“They were not nice but this woman showed me too much love. She respected. She was very beautiful. I meant everything to her”, he said. 

“I dated a 42-year-old woman when I was 18,” the Daybreak Hitz host revealed.

Andy Dosty also revealed that his relationship with the 42-year-old woman developed his love for ladies who are well-endowed. 

“I developed that love because I was loved by a woman who was heavy”, he added. 

The media personality who is also a musician is currently promoting his new song titled “1K” which features fellow musicians E.L. and KiDi.

The new single, ‘1K’, is an up-tempo jam that will compliment any occasion.

In the song, ladies are urged not to be greedy with their “God-given sugar” so that the men will also be generous with their money.

The song, ‘1K’, which has been released for radio play, will hit music stores later this month.

Explaining why there is a change in plans as communicated by his team, the Daybreak Hitz host mentioned that the change in plans was to help the team give the fans more when the song finally hits music streaming stores.

“I have often said that music should be marketed right, hence I want my fans to bear with me to do it the right way,” he said.

He said he was grateful for the continuous support from his fans for his brand.

According to the renowned presenter, he has issues with the musician claiming the media is fake though he has friends in the same space who are keen to support him to the core.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the Love You Die musician said he cannot fathom why the musician is now lambasting the media but had no friction when he was on top of the airwaves.

Andy Dosty, reacting to this said, I think it’s offensive from where I sit. From time, we were playing your songs, even now, I play songs for people and once ‘Mansa’ plays, ‘Brother Brother’ must follow.

How much will someone influence me not to play Bisa K’dei’s songs? He asked on the show.

Additionally, the popular presenter said he would have had no issue if the musician had mentioned names.

What if he has proof? My sword is always double-edged. Why don’t you say some media persons? He has to mention names, he dared him.

Meanwhile, the presenter said he could put himself in the musician’s shoes due to a similar encounter he had with an artiste manager sometime back.

When I was at Peace FM, I met a man who was so much in pain and willing to stop songs of an artiste from being played on airwaves because his artiste ditched him. He was in so much pain.

Some few days ago, rapper Sarkodie made the decision to bring back Azonto, soon after he jumped on a song with the BAR rapper E.L dubbed Revival.

The song took a trend ride on Twitter – where many lauded as much as slammed the duo for their creative piece on social media.

Andy Dosty, reacting to this on Daybreak Hitz, monitored by Adomonline.com, said he will be elated if Ghanaian musicians unite and continue to “drum Azonto to the ears of Africa again.”

According to him, “it will be the biggest competitor to Afrobeats” which is topping the streaming charts in recent times.

The video for the song, which features Kuami Eugene, was shot by Oskhari Films and released on Thursday, November 28.

The story in the video follows a man who continues to be with his woman even after she lost her legs.

Through thick and thin, the host of Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, stayed with his girl regardless of the gossips around them, taking care of her and later getting married to her because according to Andy Dosty, “love has no limitations.”

Also making an appearance in the video as wedding guests, were Gospel artiste, Lady Prempeh; rapper D Cryme and JoyPrime’s Red Carpet host, Ibrahim Ben-Bako.

“My Favorite Song Is Out Finally?❤❤,” one fan Curtis Jubilant wrote on YouTube.

Stella Abayatey also wrote, “I have been waiting for this video, finally it is here, it’s lit.”

“Forever my favorite ❤️ beautiful video,” Empress Kertson wrote while Enertson Edem added “NYC one bra Andy MA feeeeeli ???.”
