To Mr Pratt, he finds nothing treasonable about comments Dr Agordzo is alleged to have made about signs of Arab spring uprisings in Ghana.

“Is it treasonable to be a realist? If people are going to be arrested for posting on WhatsApp platforms that the Arab Spring conditions exist in Ghana, then we will end up jailing a lot of people in Ghana because people have said worst things,” he said.

According to Mr Pratt, the system needs to be fair with everyone with regards to such issues because he does not know and understand the purpose for holding someone up over WhatsApp comments.

“Some politicians make me sad and I will be very angry and offended if this happens to me and I know everyone will be angry too yet we are doing it to other people and I don’t know what the purpose is.

“People are being tried over WhatsApp messages when you can sometimes be on platforms you have no idea about or because he is a policeman he cannot think or reason in such a manner,” he said on Accra-based Metro TV, monitored by Adomonline.com.

Wife of Senior Police Officer, ACP Dr. Benjamin Agordzor arrested over his alleged involvement in a coup plot says she suspects some politicians to be behind her husband’s arrest.

Patience Agordzor stated that, her husband’s reputation is being dragged in the mud because of his early rise to fame and outspoken nature in the police service.

“I think somebody is trying very hard to destroy his fame. He veered into something that no one has ever done in this country by speaking the truth and calling a spade a spade, and so people think that he is in a way bringing something new into the service” she said.

She however ruled out the possibility of involvement of senior police officers in the scheme to ruin her husband.

“I don’t believe police officers are involved, I think a politician is behind this, someone thinks that this man is an opposition member, but that is not true. He is someone who goes straight to the point and speaks the truth” she said.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show “Dwaso Nsem” on Wednesday, a devastated Mrs Agordzo is optimistic that, God will vindicate her husband from all allegations leveled against him.

ACP Agordzor has been charged with abetment to commit treason for his alleged involvement in the coup plot and has been held in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) since Monday November 4, 2019.

ACP Agordzo is set to face the court on Wednesday on the charges brought against him by the state.
