Its very unfortunate many Ghanaian’s do not understand Corporate Governance, the fact that Pastor Otabil was appointed the board Chairman: does not overrule highest shareholders powers, Pastor Otabil only owed 7% shares as compared with others 50% etc. With all the letters and writings out, none has stated Pastor Otabil as engaging in any financial malpractice and so on. Please let’s give the man of God a space……

A very lame public relations article by an Otabil disciple.
It is obvious he couldn’t do anything to salvage the bank. The bank collapsed out of poor leadership, shareholders not paying up capital , spending the banks money on private stuff etc etc…..these ‘re the facts revealed by an internal memo. Kwesi Pratt published this memo and he was dragged to court three years ago.
Integrity indeed has found a double meaning !
Indeed religion is an opium for the masses in this country but I am glad it is not for everyone. We are all fallible and once we are able to accept our mistakes we can learn and improve but when we try to justify the mistake by spewing Insults from the pulpit on people who criticize you and blame it on the devil then there is cause for worry.
I love Mensah Otabil, but his reaction to critics on this matter leaves much to be desired.
“To whom much is given, much is expected”.

Seriously, you want anyone to believe Otabil is politically neutral? Wow! But more importantly, your fixation on the fact that Otabil could have used his “influence” to save his bank from being taken over in a hostile manner but did not do it suggest you are being myopic. Now, the fact that the Finance Minister, and Members of the Bank of Ghana all sit in Otabil Church, and his collapsed bank is being rescued using the taxpayers monies via GCB Bank would raise eyebrows in any advance democracy where laws truly work — Otabil, the BoG, and the Finance Minister would all be under investigation will trigger suspicion as there is an inherent conflict of interest in what you have described…. But will Otabil and the Board of the collapsed Capital Bank get investigated? I do not think so. If an investigation is attempted, it may be shoddy…a cover up…because those who will trigger this are all sitting under Otabil’s feet as you are telling us… The issues as you have raised here are troubling…that the BoG and Finance Ministries (which is responsible for appointing the Board of the BoG has appointed people’s from Otabil’s church) and also persons who are finance ministers close allies…and the finance minister himself sits at Otabil’s feet to, as you described it, “learn from His wisdom”…. This should trouble anyone…that his BANK is being saved, through his network of friends, not taken over in a hostile manner…as you have described it… Interesting times ahead in this country….But no matter what you think…. All the guys involved in this will be punished no matter how long it takes…including Otabil and the Finance Minister for their rather glaring influence peddling… Just wait and see…

I read Opoku Gakpo of Multi Media’s article with a lot of mixed feelings.Pastor Otabil is truly a man who has made and will continue to make great waves in the lives of millions of Ghanaians. This notwithstanding, I strongly believe that anyone who will want to claim that we should “praise” Pastor Otabil because he allowed his bank to collapse without interfering is not being fair. This is especially so in the light of the memorandum said to have been written by the former MD to the Board of the Bank and the leaked BOG Report on the Bank. Whilst it will be unfair for anyone to write away all the good deeds done by Pastor Otabil because of the collapse of Capital Bank, it will also be unacceptable if anyone attempt to brush the issues (at least those in the public domain)surrounding the collapse of the Bank under the carpet. At the very least, if the memorandum said to have been written by the former MD and the BOG Report on the Bank are true, then Pastor Otabil, being Chairman of the then Capital Bank, will have a lot of explanations to do.

The love of money is the root of all evil. Now these pastors have become business men. How many banks did Paul and Peter own? These pastors love good life and will do anything to amass money to support their lifestyle. God’s Judgement has began on each one of them.
It all money and now they should ear this shame.
