Nkwanta Senior High School (SHS) in the Oti Region has been temporarily closed after a shooting incident that claimed the life of an 18-year-old student in a renewed clash.
The student was shot by unknown assailants while participating in mock examinations on the school premises on Friday.
This shocking event has left the school community in mourning and has raised concerns about safety within educational institutions.
The headmaster, Solomon Sarpong, confirmed the incident to Adom News, expressing profound sorrow over the loss of a young life.
He stated that the decision to close the school was made to ensure the safety and well-being of the remaining students and staff.
The school will remain closed until further notice while authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Mr. Sarpong urged the community to remain calm and to cooperate with the police as they work to bring those responsible to justice.
