A middle-aged woman, Maame Juliet Nyarko has revealed sorrowfully that she has been struck by stroke after investing her life savings at Menzgold.

Menzgold was asked to shut down its gold vault trading by the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) in August, after its clashes with SEC and BoG over the company’s operations.

The state agencies insisted that Menzgold did not have the license to conduct the business it had ventured into.

Since then, Menzgold has had difficulties in paying its numerous aggrieved customers the value on their gold deposits as well as their entire investments.

According to Maame Juliet, she has been struck by stroke because of Menzgold’s inability to pay back her Ghc170.000 investment.

Maame Juliet, who was speaking in an exclusive interview with Justice Kwaku Annan, host of ‘Ghana Must Know’, an investigative show on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM, indicated sorrowfully that:

“I invested my own money at Menzgold and it’s 1.7 billion.. Because of Menzgold’s inability to pay my investment, I have been struck by stroke and for over four months now I have asked them to at least give me GHC2,000 for my medical bills but to no avail…I have not witnessed such a barbaric thing in my life before”, Juliet Nyarko cried profusely.
