A 40-year old woman was on Wednesday found murdered some twenty five metres away from her house at Dayaaso a suburb of Winneba in the Effutu Municipality.

Narrating the story to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Winneba, Chief Superintendent of Police Godfrey Tetteh Adjirakor who is the Winneba District Police Commander said the deceased Mary Bondze was a native of Winneba and also a trader.

According to him about 0735 hours this morning, Mr. Kofi T. Micah, Assembly member for the Effutu Donbosco/Sankro area reported to the police that about 0600 hours on Wednesday he received information that someone has been found dead at a spot at Dayaaso a suburb of Winneba.

Chief Superintendent Adjirakor said he led a team of policemen to the scene and found the body of the deceased (Mary Bondze) lying in a pool of blood in a supine position with the upper part of her body covered with leaves.

He said the Police also found a mobile phone, handbag and a piece of cloth, all believed to belong to the victim beside the body.

The Commander said the Police conducted inspection on the body and found out that there was a deep cut from the side of the head to the neck and some multiples cuts at both shoulders but no parts of the body had been taken away.

Chief Superintendent Adjirakor said the body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba for preservation and autopsy.

He said the Police are working round the clock to apprehend the perpetrators and asked the public to volunteer information to assist the Police.

When the GNA later interviewed the husband of the deceased, he said that the deceased has no known adversaries in the community.
