‘Wicked’ UEW VC had agenda for sacking lecturers – Lower Manya MP

Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower Manya Constituency, Ebenezer Okletey Tei-Larbi says the Vice Chancellor (VC) of University of Education Winneba (UEW), Rev. Father Afful-Broni, had an agenda for sacking some lecturers of the university.

The legislator said, Rev Afful-Broni, knowing the tedious processes and procedures one goes through to become a professor, should have thought of his actions carefully before carrying them out.

You can’t go through the process of teaching and researching for years just for an individual to use a day to sack you and relief you of all your duties. This means you are losing everything including the little credibility you have left,” he said on Peace FM.

Mr Tei-Larbi said the actions of the VC suggest that he had all his actions planned even before he was given the position to run the university.

He also doubted if Rev. Afful-Broni could continue in his position as a VC since his appointment has put the university in chaos.

“His actions were premeditated…he had an agenda and the best thing for him to do is to advise himself and resign,” he advised.

“I thought his appointment will bring peace looking at his position as a Rev. Father and a religious man but it is unfortunate the number of people he has sacked in a small space since his appointment. This indicates that he had this all thought through and planned out before his appointment,” he said.
