Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko, Jarvis Peprah is convinced Ghana has equally better players to replace suspended player, Kelvin Prince Boateng.
The former AC Milan and Portsmouth attacking midfielder was suspended from the national team for allegedly using vulgar language on former head coach of the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah during training session in Brazil.
With Asamaoh Gyan ruled out of the Egypt clash due to injury, and both West Ham and Juventus refusing to release Andre Ayew and Kwadwo Asamoah respectively, many football fans have urged Avram Grant to include both KP Boateng and Sulley Muntari in the squad to strengthen the team ahead of the big game against Egypt.
Boateng, who has been out of the team for the past two years indicated in a recent interview with CCTV News Africa that he would fancy a return to the Stars to play his third consecutive FIFA World Cup but Jarvis believes Ghana has better players to replace the Las Palmas star.
“I am very surprised people are saying we didn’t give Kelvin the platform to explain what happened in Brazil. Kelvin had the opportunity to appear before the commission of inquiry and he refused and now that he needs another World Cup appearance on his Curriculum Vitae, he is now telling us that what happened in Brazil was set up against him. We shouldn’t allow anybody to do whatever he or she wants with the national team,” Jarvis said.
“I don’t agree with those calling for the inclusion of Kelvin to the Black Stars simply because he is in fine form. We shouldn’t allow that to happen because we have seen several indiscipline actions in the team and Kelvin knows in his heart that he has not been truthful to Ghanaians.
“We have players abroad who are far better than Kelvin. Let’s maintain the discipline we have in our team. He shouldn’t be allowed to come back to the team because we have talented players committed to play for the country,” Jarvis emphasized.
