Kwadwo Nkansah, actor and musician

Ghanaian actor cum musician Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, says organisers of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) should have nominated most of his songs this year because they were popular.

He noted that most of his songs are more popular than the ones nominated for this year’s VGMA, hence couldn’t fathom why he was taken out of most of the categories.

He told SVTV Africa that members of the Board and Academy tend to recognise him more as an actor than musician, insisting, that is not right.

“The organisers see me as an actor and not a musician, they don’t see the need in awarding me as a musician unlike Europe, regardless of where you are, you will still be awarded but it isn’t the same in Ghana.

“Most of my songs are more popular than the artistes they nominated and the fans cheer to my performances more than those artistes,” he stressed.

According to Lil Win, he is not perturbed by missing out on most of the categories, but would work harder to prove his point as a musician, adding that, his fans eulogising him for his works means more than an award to him.
