A lecturer at Central University, Benjamin Okyere Ankrah, says the current vice chancellor of the University of Education Winneba (UEW), Reverend Father Afful Broni does not qualify for the position.
He explained that, even the age of the current VC disqualifies him to hold such position.
“University of Education, Winneba has a its rules and regulation. By the act governing the institution, a vice chancellor must not be more than 58 years so the current vice chancellor is not qualified” he fumed.
“I am challenging him to bring the regulations of the university and lets check his age he if he qualifies or not,I have sat on the university of Ghana council before and I know rules and regulations are used, So which law did they refer to when they were appointing him as vice chancellor,” he stated.
Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, Mr. Okyere Ankrah said that people like him [Rev. Afful Broni] are killing our education system in the country because they don’t allow people to express themselves when they have a problem with the system.
“The supreme law in Ghana is the Constitution which allows you to ask for interpretation if there are no clarification on an issue, so if something has happened and a group of people do not understand and they have taken you to court, why should you sack them? Is that how to run a university?” he quizzed.
Mr. Okyere Ankrah expressed shock at the conduct of Rev. Prof. Afful Broni who teaches management but practice mismanagement.
“You teach management and you practice mismanagement; is this how you run a university,” he quizzed.
Mr. Okyere Ankrah appealed to the school’s council and government to as a matter of urgency call him to order to avert any pandemonium in the school.
