Tough-talking football administrator, Takyi Arhin has apologised for describing the two women on the FIFA- constituted Normalization Committee as beauty pageant contestants.

“Thunder” as he is known in football circles in an interview on Asempa FM said the two women, Lucy Quist and Lawyer Adofoley Nortey have no place on the Committee since it was not a beauty pageantry that is being organised.

For him, there are other competent people who could have been invited.

But after several reproaches from individuals in the media, Mr Arhin has accepted he erred and apologised, saying what he said was on the lighter side.

“Everybody who knows me knows I add humour to everything I say and what I said about the women on the Normalization Committee does not mean I hate women. I have nothing against the women and I know they can do the job,” he explained.

“I retract what I said and I apologise accordingly. I do not stigmatise against women but I know where this negative crusade is coming from”, he added.

FIFA, CAF and government last Thursday announced a newly-constituted  Normalization Committee to man the affairs of the Ghana Football Association from now till March 2019 of which the two women are members.
