The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) is not impressed with the police handling of the murder of an investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein Suale on Wednesday night.

President of the Association, Roland Affil Monney said the law enforcement agency seems to be docile in apprehending the perpetrators of such heinous crime.

Ahmed Suale, who is a key partner of investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI firm, died on the spot at Madina on his way home when he was reportedly shot three times by an unknown assailant.

The development has attracted widespread condemnation on social media especially journalists who are posting with the #JournalismIsNotCrime.

President of GJA on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, Affil Monney condemned the killing describing it as “un-Ghanaian and unacceptable”.

He said the heinous murder has cowed the entire media fraternity into submission and the police must act swiftly to maximize security.

Affil Monney called on the police to promptly investigate the matter and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.

“Our lives are in the hands of the law and the state has the responsibility to get protection for all of us”.
