Volta River Authority (VRA) says Public Utility and Regulatory Commission (PURC) will be needed to help find a lasting solution to several meter complaints received from Akosombo residents.

Head of Corporate Affairs at VRA, Gertrude Koomson says this has become necessary after Tuesday’s demonstration by the residents to register their displeasure about the meters.

She told Adom News ,there was an earlier intervention by PURC when the residents petitioned it but that did not yield the needed result hence the need for reengagement.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations at Ghana Standards Authority(GSA), Kofi Amponsah Bediako says GSA only ensures that meters measure accurately.

However, it is not their mandate to indicate how much institutions should charge.
