A male teacher has been confirmed dead whilst 48 students of Mangoase senior high school have been admitted at the Atua Government hospital in the Eastern Region after a bus they were travelling on veered off and landed on the side of the road.

The driver of the bus, who is also on admission is said to have lost control while negotiating a curve on their way to Odumase Krobo for excursion.

Marylove Nai Williams, a senior nursing officer at the Atua government hospital where the victims have been admitted explains that a team of health workers are busy working to save the lives of students who sustained varying degrees of injuries.

She says one of the students who had a fractured leg bone has been referred to the regional hospital in Koforidua.

“They brought in 50 people, a teacher, a driver, and 48 students. They were seriously injured so all the workers here are busy working on them. One of them had a fractured leg bone so he has been referred to the Koforidua regional hospital for treatment” she stated.

The Headmaster of Mangoase Senior High School, Seth Abgesi, told Adom News he was rushing to the hospital where the students have been admitted.

According to him, the trip was sanction by Management of the school.
