The nationwide vaccination against measles and rubella for children from nine months to five years has received low patronage as mothers feel reluctant to send their kids for immunization.
The President of Community Health Nurses’ Association of Ghana, Esther Bamfo, with her team monitoring the immunisation across the country visited Ningo-Prampram and Agbogbloshie in the Greater Accra region to interact with the field workers.
Speaking to the media after the tour, Esther Bamfo, decried the low patronage and challenges community officers were facing in administering the vaccines.

She said although government is trying its best to improve the quality of healthcare in the country, individuals and non-governmental organisations need to assist in executing the mandate.
The health officials have, therefore, called on mothers to send their children for vaccination to help make their immune systems strong to avert diseases.

The exercise which started on Wednesday 17th October will end on Monday 22nd October 2018.
