A 76-year-old man identified as Agyei Mensah has been shot dead in Abrewanko near Nsonyameye in Agogo in the Asante Akim North District in the Eastern Region.
Agyei Mensah is alleged to have been shot by seven armed men who are alleged to be herdsmen.
The incident happened when the herdsmen allegedly attacked residents in the area.
Local reports have indicated that two other people who have been shot have also been rushed to the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital for medical attention.

In an interview with Adom News, the Assemblyman for Nyatokrom electoral area, Peter Abeje, said the herdsmen were troubling residents of the area.
He also alleged that the Military men who were sent to the town are not helping the situation.
Esther Amoako, who is a daughter of the deceased called on the government to look into the issue and help identify her father’s killers.

However, the Asante Akyem North Agogo District Police Commander, Jerry Amekah who also spoke to Adom News urged the residents to keep calm and assured them of maximum protection.
