National Democratic Congress (NDC) members in the Awutu Senya East in the Central Region have clashed with some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after some NPP members defaced posters of John Mahama on the walls of Kasoa interchange.

Addressing a press conference Friday, the Awutu Senya East Constituency Chairman on the Ticket of the NDC Stephen Ofosu Agyare  stated they will not allow the NPP members to intimidate them again as they did under the old leadership of NDC.

“They removed only JM’s picture so I ordered my party members to put them back because I didn’t why it had to be so.”

He has therefore called on NPP National Executives  to advice the NPP Executives in the Awutu Senya East constituency in order to maintain peace in the area else they will match them boot for boot if such thing should repeat itself.

Chairman Ofosu Agyare further accused Kasoa Divisional Commander ACP David Agyeman Adjem for being bias and supporting NPP members.

However speaking to the NPP constituency Communications Director Charles Odoom, stated they told them not to post the posters because that was an existing rule in the constituency and therefore unlawful.

“The order came from the Assembly task office but no poster was left on the bridge as been reported by the NDC. We took that of the church and all other posters so we don’t know why they violated that rule. The Post no bill inscription is on the wall so if they should paste them again, we will remove them.”

Former president Mahama is expected to visit Central Region for the second time as part of his campaign tour ahead of the party’s presidential primaries this month.

However, the Kasoa Divisional police commander, ACP Agyeman Adjem said, the matter is under investigations.
