It is one thing celebrating your birthday with a lavish party meant for friends and family but it is another thing doing same with people who will ordinarily not dream of ever sharing a room, let alone, get a soothing touch from you.

But this was exactly what Adom TV‘s screen diva who is also a news presenter on Adom 106.3 FM, Afia Amankwaah Tamakloe, did when she celebrated her birthday with Cerebral Palsy children and their parents at the Y.O.A Foundation.

Afia Amankwaah, who also is the host of Nkwa Hia on Adom TV and Nyinsen Ne Awo) on Adom FM, donated food stuff, toiletries, diapers and fruits to these children who may never have dreamed of ever sharing time with the woman they have, until that day, only saw her on TV.

Afia was accompanied by gospel queen, Obaapa Christy of ‘Wagye Me‘ fame, to give the children an experience that will linger in their memories forever.

As expected, Afia and Obaapa’s presence put smiles on the faces of these children who have lived with Cerebral Palsy and their helpless parents who say they have been stigmatised for far too long.

According to Afia Amankwaah, the happiness of these children was very dear to her heart, hence her gesture.

“I become so sad when I see these helpless-but-lovely children; I cannot heal them but I believe this is the small contribution I can give to see them happy,” she said.

The children, together with their parents and the volunteers of the Y.O.A Foundation, were beside themselves with joy, calling on other presenters and well-to-do persons to emulate Mrs Tamakloe and share their happy moments with the venerable in society.
