The chief of Kwahu Obomeng in the Eastern region, Nana Effah Opinamang III is calling for peace ahead of the December 7 general elections.

According to him, Ghana will be the eventual loser if members of political parties plunge the country into chaos.

“We should strive for peace. Wars in other countries should teach us that it collapses development. Those interested to spark violence should be stopped professionally. I urge the EC to play their part well” he stated.

Nana Effah Opinamang III made the call when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Multimedia Group Limited, Kwesi Twum.

The visit was to introduce himself to the business mogul and to outline his vision for Obomeng, close to a year after his enstoolment.

On his plan for the Easter celebrations next year, Nana Effah Opinamang III said he will be organizing homecoming for all the illustrious sons of the land to contribute to the town’s development.

‘It’s close to over a year that I have been enstooled chief of Obomeng so we are planning a big homecoming for our sons and daughter both home and abroad to contribute their quota to the town’s development’ he noted.

Nana Effah Opinamang III also underscored the need for chiefs across the country to put development of their town first and eschew partisan politics.

“As a chief you are for your people. It is not our duty as chiefs to endorse any personality. In fact, we all belong to one party – Ghana. It is the duty of the government to breed development in the country. They should all play their part to add up to development of the country to unify us” he stressed.
