Former Black Stars striker, Augustine Arhinful has advised the premier league clubs to soften their stands and work hand in hand with the Normalization Committee.

There have been criticisms from the public with some accusing the 16 premier league clubs of trying to sabotage the efforts of the Dr Kofi Amoah-led committee which led to the cancellation of the special competition.

According to the former Ghana international, the posture of the clubs is the reason why the Normalization Committee so far has done nothing as far as their mandate is concerned.

“They [the Normalization Committee and the premier league clubs] have to be one, the premiership clubs should leave their stand that they have taken and try to work hand in hand with the Normalization Committee in order to even get the chance to administer football here in Ghana.”  He told Kwadwo Mensah Moshosho.

“From the look of things, it doesn’t look the premier league clubs are ready. FIFA gave the Normalization Committee up to next month ending, as at now we are almost at the end of February and nothing has happened; so obviously, FIFA will extend their tenure.”  He added.

The parliamentary select committee on sports and culture have met with the normalization committee and the 16 premier league clubs and according to Patrick Akoto, the special competition will come on in one or two weeks time.
