Member of the NDC’s legal team, Victor Kojoga Adawudu

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s legal team, Victor Kojoga Adawudu has described the court action against the national chairman of the NDC, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo as the best option for the party.

According to lawyer Adawudu, though the NDC does not see any criminality in the purported audio of Mr Ofosu-Ampofo, they will still subject it to the judicial process.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Tuesday, lawyer Adawudu said they were confident their national chairman would be exonerated.

“Per our judgement from the audio we heard at the Criminal Investigations Department office which was about 40 minutes, we did not find any criminality in the tape, but it is for the prosecution to prove it is criminal,” he said.

“Going to court was the best and will help resolve the case completely because it could have been used as blackmail against Ofosu-Ampofo by some people sometime to come. It would have become a routine for people to make quick money of others by recording their conversations and selling to opponents. So this case is a test case,” he added.

“A lot of questions begging for answers will be raised because there were no complainants at the first hearing and so with time we will find out if it is the State or whosoever. Other legal issues will be raised in the process. This case may bring a lot of things out and we are also in for interesting things,” he stated.
