Ghanaian highlife musician, Kumi Guitar, says he doesn’t get depressed when people tell him to lose weight on social media.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Thursday, the “Betweener” hitmaker told Andy Dosty that “no one criticizes my music, they only tell me to lose weight.”

He added that such criticisms hardly get at him because it shows that people care about his lifestyle and craft.

“It’s not bad; it’s good for your own health. The unfortunate thing is some take it to the insult way but I guess it all boils down to one thing: they want you to be healthy,” he noted.

“With the job we do you can’t run from insults cos you’re no longer private. Our lives are not private anymore. The unfortunate thing are the insults. If you tell me to lose weight, its not like you’re doing something wrong,” Kumi maintained.
