Owner and bank roller of New Edubiase Football Club, Abdul Salam Yakubu wants government to invest heavily in football as part of the reforms expected from the yet to be named Normalization Committee.

He maintained that, massive investment is the only way to make football attractive in Ghana.

The outspoken administrator made the call on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports show Wednesday.

“We would have wasted a lot of time if government does not invest in football after the normalization committee takes over. As part of reforms I propose government pumps a lot of money into football to make it more attractive” he stated.

Abdul Salam Yakubu who is also the Black Satellite Management Committee Member also challenged government to emulate what is been practised in Gabon and Congo where government gives the local clubs some amount of money before the start of every football season.

“Since we all complain about how the local footballers are not well cared for, we will need money to improve their standard of living”, he added.

Abdul Salam also called for a change in the time the premier league is played to boost patronage.
