All has not been rosy for singer Rashelle Blue, the talented singer who has recounted the torture she allegedly went through in the hands of someone who was supposed to love and protect her.

The first lady of High Spiritual Music recounted how her ex-boyfriend constantly abused her.

“Some years ago I was in a very bad position,” she revealed in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM Wednesday.

The singer said she suffered domestic violence in its worst form as she was beaten by her boyfriend “badly”.

Asked what might have triggered the abuse in the relationship, she said, “I can’t pinpoint what it was but I think it was insecurity.”

According to her, she believes whenever he was in a bad mood, he snaps and subsequently slapped and assaulted her.

There “was a lot of fear,” because her ex-boyfriend “openly threatened me that if I leave…” the consequences will be unbearable for her.

She said she was living in New York when it happened but she managed to escape from that torment.

Rashelle Blue, who says she is currently single, says she moved to Ghana permanently in April to pursue her music career.

She is “just excited about learning new things” in Ghana.

Born Rachael Arhin, the singer revealed that she does get a lot of advances from men. While she feels flattered by these advances, she said she receives them in a “friendly” way.

Rashelle is currently championing a fight against breast cancer. “It is important to learn about breast cancer,” she said and urged “everyone to look into breast cancer”.

She advised that people should also take the effort to constantly examine their breasts to check for irregularities.

“It’s good to be safe so if you feel something,” she suggested.
