A disqualified aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s chairmanship position in the Asante Akyem North constituency has accused the Member of Parliament in the area, Andy Appiah Kubi, of plotting to kill him.
Edward Asadu claimed the MP unleashed some well-built men known in local parlance as ‘macho men’ on him on the Election Day.

Mr. Asadu was arrested by the Konongo police over the weekend for firing gunshots during the constituency elections at Asante Akyem North in the Ashanti region.
This was after his name was removed from the voters register after which he was informed that he was disqualified during the vetting.

Not enthused by the decision, Mr. Asadu was said to have ordered his men to disrupt the election – a decision which was vehemently opposed by supporters of the MP.

But speaking on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Monday, Edward Asadu blamed the MP for his conduct.
He alleged that Hon. Appiah Kubi has turned himself into a demigod in the constituency and is ready to even “kill” to protect his position.

“When I stormed the election centre, he [Appiah Kubi] ordered his boys to beat me and destroy my testicles so I had to fire gunshots to prevent them from killing me” he bemoaned.

Edward Asadu who is still nursing his wounds promised to retaliate if the NP is not penalized for his conduct.
