The Ghana Police Service has said that it is investigating the circumstances leading to the stealing of the handbag belonging to the Quiz Mistress for the 2017 National Science and Maths Quiz.
Dr. Elsie Effah Kaufmann Thursday had the shock of her life after the finals of the contest when her handbag was stolen.
The bewildered senior lecturer and head of the Biomedical Engineering Department of the University of Ghana, Legon lost her valuables moments when supporters of the winners Prempeh College mounted the stage to receive their prize.
However she visited the Ministries police station to file a complaint about her missing handbag where she reported to police.
But Commander of the Ministries District Police, Florence Owusu described the theft as unfortunate and that the service is investigating the incident.
She told Adom News investigators have already visited the scene of the incident.

Prempeh College in the Ashanti region were crowned winners of the 2017 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
They beat closest rivals St Thomas Aquinas Senior High School with a two-point difference win in the competition to grab the bragging rights for the fourth time.
At the end of the competition, Prempeh College had 53 points while Aquinas had 51 points and Adisadel College with 31 points.
