“My wife doesn’t drink alcohol; in fact, she hates it and has never tasted it before. I decided not to pay attention to this false report because it’s unnecessary. On that fateful day, my wife neither drank nor ate anything alcoholic.

“The ceremony was supposed to come off in the morning but because of some issues, it had to happen in the afternoon and because we had it in the afternoon, I told my wife to eat something before but she declined and said she would prefer a soft drink and so the drink she took that day was grape fruit drink and after she tasted it she asked for more because it was sweet and that is why people around her were surprised and not because she drank alcohol”, he said on Accra-based radio, Neat FM.
A video of Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah’s wife, Abena Animah, allegedly taking shots of akpeteshie before her wedding ceremony has been circulating on social media.
The 14 seconds video which has sparked controversy on Facebook captures the bride-to-be asking another lady to pour her a drink stored in a container after the lady had already had her own share.

The lady was seen with a cup pouring the content purported to be akpeteshie and asking the Pastor’s wife: “Is it OK?”
The bride-to-be then retorted, “No, add some more” to the amazement of other women in the room who exclaimed, “Eeeiii Osofo Maame!”
But reacting to the video, the controversial Man of God believes some detractors are trying hard to tarnish his hard-earned reputation by claiming that his wife drinks alcohol.

According to him, he cannot allow his wife to drink alcohol in the midst of men of God the same way he won’t condone such bad conduct in his church.
“I know some people are behind that act, claiming that my wife drinks alcohol. They only want to tarnish my image by reporting falsely. I won’t allow that in my church and so can my wife drink alcohol in the midst of men of God? Never?”, he replied.
Prophet Owusu Bempah said his wife is not affected by the alcohol reports because she was confident that it was false.
