A 35-year-old man is accusing a female neighbour of casting a spell on his baby after escorting his laboring wife to hospital to give birth.
McCarthy Zore of Akom Nkwatakese in the Ashanti region said the woman identified only as Matilda wrongly disposed off the placenta which he suspects was used for rituals.
He said after his wife was discharged from hospital, he went to the woman’s house to thank her for the gesture but she was unavailable.
Mr. Zore indicated that, three months after, his baby developed a strange illness which they have tried unsuccessfully to cure.
He insists Matilda should show him where she buried the placenta so he can exhume and rebury it himself to save the baby’s life.
“My baby after delivery started developing strange illness and but couldn’t find the cure after visiting the hospital several times. My father later asked where the placenta was buried which led us to the woman who helped my wife.
“We asked her only for her to tell us that she had already buried the placenta but we believed she rather used it for rituals because it’s not normal that my baby keeps getting sick every day” he told Nhyira FM’s Agya Manso on Wisae mu Nsem show, Monday.
Mr. Zore said after locating the woman she was unable to show the spot where she buried the placenta.

Meanwhile, Matilda who denies any wrong doing is said to have contracted a spiritualist to threaten the couple to stop harassing her or risk death.
