Renowned Ghanaian hip-life musician, Kofi B, known in real life as Eric Kofi Boakye Yiadom has said lynching of a military office, Captain Maxwell Mahama is spiritual.

He explained that, his death[Maxwell] was planned in the spiritual realm but the mob was used to accomplish the mission the physically.

The late Captain Maxwell Mahama was killed at Denkyira Obuasi in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central region on suspicion of being an armed robber.

Captain Mahama, who is the commander of the area military detachment according to his subordinates, was seen jogging along the main road and as he stopped by to ask some women for directions, the women saw a pistol on him.

The women who were alarmed by the discovery of the pistol on Captain Mahama mistook him for an armed robber thereby alerting their assembly member who allegedly organized some men to fatally lynch him and even burnt him in the process.

But speaking in an exclusive interview on Adom FM’s ‘Work and Happiness’ with show host Ohemaa Woyeje, Kofi B said the brutal killing is not normal.

“The soldier was murdered by the mob. Some people might think it is a normal physical happening. But one might be surprised to know it has a spiritual backing. Some people might want you dead but might use such means to operate to level the implications…” he said.

He indicated everyone can be a culprit in such matters hence it is only the fear of God that can save one out of such occurrences.

He, however, condemned the actions of the residents and urged Ghanaians to pray against such evil acts from happening in the country.

“With this, I think we should be afraid of God on the daily since it can happen to anyone at any time. We are all subjected to such things. We should fear God and pray such never happens anymore. I don’t understand. How can people even do that…?” he queried.

  1. Kofi Boakye, thank you so much. I had the same feelings that this murder was more of spiritual sacrifice than physical. The way the crime was committed is very strange. History reminds us of how a former Denkyira chief Ntim Gyakari’s body was divided into three parts and distributed all over as a sacrifice. Nothing in life happens without a reason. I believe there is something behind this lynching. Like you said, the sacrifice was done in the realms of the spirit before the murder took place physically. Am not surprised! There is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. What ever a man sows, he shall surely reap. May his untimely death bring a ripple effect to reshape primitive ideas on how to handle issues. May his soul find a place in eternity. Rest in peace captain! Mora..mora…mora!

  2. I respect Kofi B so much for his good musical capability, but his argument about his being spiritual and trying to get these wicked people out of heat and blame it on spirits is not relevant . Moreover, i think he wasn’t also right by finally concluding that one can only be free of such things through the fear of God, so what is his justification that Captain Mahama didn’t fear God? Its about time fellow Ghanaians moved from all these unrealistic spiritual mind frames to a more realistic state of mind and way of looking at things especially in matters like this which are influenced by nothing but sheer wickedness. The people must be Gruesomely punished.#justiceformahama
