Valentine’s Week is here!

As Valentine’s Day approaches, it can be a weird (maybe, irritating) feeling for singles to see couples getting overtly romantic and gifting each other teddies, chocolates, roses and what not. In case you secretly envy such couples and have the slightest doubt that they might be happier, here are six reasons why being single is a blessing in disguise for you on Valentine’s Day.

There is no stress to plan a perfect date

You don’t not have to stress about making this day as romantic as possible. You don’t have to hunt for that perfect gift, arrange a dreamy date and look for ways to make this occasion a special affair. Not just this, you don’t need to care whether you are heading out or spend the day in your night suit just lazying around home. Congratulations! Your ‘single’ status has gifted you stress-free Valentine’s Day.

No expectation level!

Intentionally or unintentionally, we all have some expectations from our love interest on this day. Would he gift me a surprise gift? Does she have any plan in mind? Um, my partner is not able to make me feel special on this most romantic day of the year. Sigh! Well, if you are single, you have no expectations from anyone, except your own self! The only thing you want is to stay happy, right?

Spend your money on yourself

For all the obvious reasons, your bank account will thank you on this day. You won’t be squandering your hard-eared money to make someone else’s day by buying gifts or footing the bill of a fine-dining restaurant. You would spend (rather invest) this money on yourself whenever you feel like.

Celebrate it your own way

Head to a salon, book a table at your favourite restaurant, gift yourself something you have been eying to buy since months or go on a vacation, Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to go on a solo date. Be your own hero and celebrate the day the way you want.

Catch up with your single friends

What about having a fun evening with your friends who are single? Chit-chat over some good food and wine and you all may come down to the conclusion that Valentine’s Day is way too overrated!

Realise you are living life on your own terms!

Honestly, there’s no dearth of potential dates around on Valentine’s Day! But the fact that you are single and happy in your own company implies that you are living your life on your own terms. You don’t want to settle for anything less than you deserve and will only step into a relationship for all the right reasons.
