The Kumasi based club beat Hearts of Oak 4-0 in a two leg friendly played in August and fans of the latter believe their pride is being cheapened and therefore will not play any of such games going forward.

Speaking on the Ultimate Sports Show, Paa Kofi Sumsum stated that, the decision not to play Kotoko is not borne out of fear but beleives the Phobians will be lowering their standards.

“We do not want the team to play any friendly with Kotoko again and it is not because we fear defeat but we feel the rivalry is been diluted and the referees continue to cheat us when we play such games in Kumasi” he explained.

“Management of Kotoko can say they do not need us because we cheapened ourselves when we wrote t them for the friendly. We can also play good friendly matches and make all the money we want. We are a big club and need to act as such, all those friendly matches must cease”.

  1. There is no sense in that, since the season began, i have been calling on the handlers of hearts of oak on the need to sign a qualified coach but none of those calls were heeded to. Neither has any hearts supporter added his or her voice. But realistically, the team have not had a coach for a long time. What kind of result were they expecting to get? They can t be serious. How can you get by using coaches who themselves need more training than the players they are coaching? Yet you employ a manager whose work does not directly impact the players’ performance.
