The Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah, has disclosed government’s intention to reward current WBO Interim Super Bantamweight Champion, Isaac Dogbe, for his magnificent display against his Mexican opponent, Cesar Juarez last Saturday.
Isaac Dogbe also known as “Royal Storm”, knocked out Cesar Juarez in the fifth of their scheduled 12 round bout to win the belt on Saturday night at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
The Minister who was thrilled by Dogbe’s performance on the night stated that:
“In the coming weeks, Dogbe will hear from government. I can promise you that the president would reward him handsomely for his performance tonight,” he told Graphic Sports.
“I’m so proud of him and all I can say now  is that he is that he is so focused, determined and disciplined and that is what every boxer needs to attain  greater heights in the country,” he added.
According to Mr. Asiamah, Dogbe’s victory is a major step towards the revival of boxing in the country.
Isaac Dogbe will be up to challenge  Mexican American professional boxer, Jessie Magdaleno who has held the WBO super bantamweight title since November 2016, in June 2018 ,upon his return from injury.
