Teachers and pupils of Patasi, Sesease and Kokoben D/A Primary school in the Ashanti Mampong Municipality have threatened to boycott school over the deplorable nature of their classrooms.

Headmaster of the school, Elvis Atakora in an interview with Adomonline’s Gershon Mortey said the classroom block of the primary school has become a death trap.

He said because the school was built with mud, it is near collapse – a situation has described as deadly especially when school is in section.

Also, Mr. Atakora noted that the school lacks text books and other learning materials, making teaching and learning very difficult.

He said efforts by the assembly and traditional authorities to get a new school building has fallen on deaf ears hence the decision by teachers and pupils to boycott school until government intervenes.

To this end, Mr Atakora appealed to government to as a matter of urgency assist them in order to save lives.

“We need government’s assistance immediately to save lives and to promote quality education. If not, then Ghanaians should  expect another disaster just like the one that happened at Breman recently” he stated.
