The Ghana Health Service (GHS) is urging the public to disregard the vile propaganda against the new malaria vaccine, Mosquirix introduced by the World Health Organisation.
Director General, Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare said none of the over 3,000 children, who received the vaccine during the clinical trials, has suffered any complication.

There is controversy over the new vaccine on social media with some people claiming Mosquirix is dangerous.
Those against it claim the vaccine is capable of making people impotent and is an agenda from the West to harm Africans.
But, Dr Nsiah-Asare on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme Monday said there is no cause for alarm.

He said in Ghana, children in Agogo and Kintampo, who were enrolled as part of the second and third phases of the trials, are very healthy.
The GHS Director General said the vaccination has started in six regions and will soon cover all regions across the country.

The vaccine, he noted, would be given four times – for babies between six months and two years. Dr Nsiah-Asare added that the vaccine has been approved for use by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in the implementation areas and that the FDA would continue to monitor its use as with all other vaccines.
