Presidential hopeful, Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, has admitted that his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost the 2016 presidential election partly because it had no message for voters.

According to him, his party failed to package a message that will resonate with electorates, compared to the NPP who he reveals, had a solid message for the electorate.

The former Mahama-appointee and diplomat, however, believes the party’s edey bee k3k3 campaign message in 2016 was one of the main reasons why the party was kicked out of office.

“NDC had no message in 2016. I met some NDC communicators in Ashanti Region and I asked them what NDC’s message was in 2016 and all they remember was Onaapo, edey bee k3k3, he noted.

According to him, the communicators rather remembered NPP’s message because they had a solid slogan, adding that the lack of message also contributed to the party’s defeat.

“The NPP had solid campaign messages and that difference was seen in the 2016 elections,” he said in an exclusive interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Tuesday.

The Former Trade and Industry Minister believes Ghanaians were looking for a message of hope, something the NDC failed to offer hence, promises of free secondary education, dams in every village in the country as well as factories in all districts swayed votes in their opponent’s favour.

He said NDC grassroots lacked information but he is ready to reveal to them why Mr Mahama must be rejected.
