Broadcast and Print Journalists together with other celebrities in the country would take their turn to be paired to battle it out in the maiden edition of the Eagle Extra Stout Armwrestling Media & Celebrity Challenge.

This exciting battle is scheduled to take place at the DGHathramani Sports Hall at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, January 18, 2019. According to the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF), this would officially open the busy 2019 arm wrestling season which they have stated would be an exciting one.

President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, Charles Osei Asibey, told www.armwrestlingghana.com that 2018 was a succe ss and the new year will be extremely eventful whereArmwrestling will get to every region of Ghana. International players, referees and coaches will visit the country to help train Ghanaians on the safety, doping and techniques of the sport.

The media and celebrity challenge which would be competed for in three bodyweights category for men and two for women have prizes rangingfrom cash, products, paraphernalia, medals, trophies as well as otherconsolation rewards.

Officials of Eagle Extra Stout from ABL have confirmed that the company will continue to engage in the development and promotion of Armwrestling in the country.

In a related development, GAF would also use the opportunity to launch the 2019 Armwrestling season and the Eagle Extra Stout Armwrestling Challenge which will tour selected regions of Ghana.

It would be recalled that the Eagle Extra Stout and GAFpartnered to organise the maiden ‘BA Challenge’ last month at the campus of the Sunyani Technical University.

After a successful event, the two organisations have agreed to continue to promote and develop the sport across the country.

GAF President, Osei Asibey, expressed his gratitude to the management of Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) producers of Eagle Extra Stout for believing in their brand.

He assured them of a successful and eventful 2019 and called on members of the armwrestling fraternity especially the athletes to continue training as they look forward to defending their trophy at 2019 Africa Armwrestling Championship in Mali.
